Re: 2012 Ft Leavenworth Historic Homes Tour - May 5

I did this last year with the Heart of America Z Car Club and was sufficiently impressed with the drive and especially the fort to attend again this year. Hope to see some of my fellow Mini drivers there too. Steve

I'm still up for a brake fluid change. Thanks. Not yet sure if I can make it to the Baron celebration but will if things work out.

I need to flush brake fluid if there is time. Otherwise I can pass wrenches.

I recenlty did my pads and rotors, thanks Carl, Clair and Davester, and have a new rear wear sensor I'll throw in for the cause. Let me know how to connect. Steve, 816-246-1540.

Re: Built me a MINI

Wow! I’m glad you posted this comment. I thought I had some bad door pulls. The passenger side gets so difficult that I usually go around and open the door from the inside. Oddly though, the drives door has gotten very easy to pop open and the passenger side has become reasonably easy, arthritic or ...

Re: Interest in a Garage Day (any potential garage donors?)

The Mini is stopping better than ever now that the brakes are and rotors are worn in. WOW! Tires properly aired up, oil topped off. Cleaning the corroded spark plug wire connection has made a real difference in putting out the power and now it really flies and stops as it should. Thanks Boxer for ho...

I need to do brake pads and front rotors and have the parts in hand. Sorry I can’t provide a place for a wrenching party, however I can bring donuts! Steve

Thanks for the help and all. The MINI is having it's first visit to the shop. As much fun and cameraderie that can be had working on the MINI's I've got to get this guy streetworthy. Thanks again and I'll let you all know what is found.

Thanks for the quick reply! All fuses are intact. Car is on the street and I don't have the heart to jack it up and climb under for a fan check. But, the fan was free when I was under it last, a few months ago. The PS has failed briefly on occasion since purchasing in 2010 but resolved quickly. Batt...

Battery Code

Okay. So I’m coming home from prepping the MINI for the M&M at Winsted’s when the battery light comes on along with stability control and antilock lights and I lose power steering, interior lights, etc. Fair enough, six year old battery reading 11.24 V, so pull it and buy a replacement at Sam’s ...

Re: Power Steering Pump teardown

What a great thread! My power steering takes bouts of not working (and it's increditable how hard it is to steer such a little car). Now I know what to expect in terms of a fix and I've registered to receive recalls for BMW's. Please also keep the gargae days posted as I can usually lend a hand and ...
