Re: Project OVRKLL

Actually I do. It has about 15000 miles on it. Tried selling it once on NAM, then just decided to sit on it.

Shoot me an email at autocrossaddict@gmail.com if you want to setup some time to look at it.

Petition to save Heartland Park

As many of you know, Heartland Park is having a rough time of it. Most of the recent press has focused on the negatives and people who don't support motorsports. This petition is to show how big and wide of influence HPT has. https://www.change.org/p/heartland-park-topeka-save-heartland-park-topeka?...

Re: Project OVRKLL

Car is running well after 2 events. Installed my lost modification for the season: D1 Spec Throttle http://www.greasysgarage.com/main/2012/08/in-stock-d1-spec-throttle-controller-for-mini-and-bmw/ Now with the 4 (Stock, 18.5, 21, 23psi) maps and 11 possible throttle adjustment options I can really d...

Re: Project OVRKLL

While chasing down my coolant leak I had to pull the oil cooler plate. I decided to just remove the entire Sneed Speed Oil Cooler for now. I believe this contributed to my early gasket wear as it put upwards pressure on the oil filter housing. Also I don't think the N14/18s need an oil cooler unless...

Re: Thermostat Housing

Turns out it wasn't the thermostat housing, but instead the coolant gasket on the oil filter housing. Such a common issue that the gasket is on backorder. Luckily Chris at Baron was able to hook me up and no more leaks.

Thermostat Housing

Seems that my 2012 Coupe has been struck by the plastic gremlins. First the rear hatch won't close and it's was due to a broken plastic safety latch.
Now I have the infamous coolant leak of the thermostat housing warping. Why modern car makes feel plastic is the solution for everything...

Re: Project OVRKLL

Blowing the dust off this topic. Had a poor end of the 2014 autocross season, and put the Mini away frustrated. But over the last month or so I've managed to connect up with a few other Gen 2 Mini guys who are pushing the envelope and I think I've got an avenue to finally get Taz where I'd hoped ove...

Re: Project OVRKLL

Well finally all the pieces were in play at Sundays autoX event. I was within .5secs of the big boys, so the car is starting to perform as I'd hoped. Now I just need to dial it in and practice.

US 75 up out of Plano isn't a bad drive once you get over the Texas border. You could take US 75 to Rt66 and angle over to Pittsburg KS, then take 69 north into KC.

Re: Anyone up for a garage day? July 2014

wow, great response. Yes the 19th of July would work. MiniDave has a much better set up than me. (if your still offering Dave). I think it would be best to have it there as I lack tools and the lift. I know there is a lot of opinion on which brake fluid to use, any specific recommendations. MiniMax...

Well Spring Nats were ok. Got washed out first day, dried out for my runs second day. I was within 4 seconds of the national champ so it's a start. Need to go wider, lower, and faster. Did learn that the Coupe is a fat ass. 2600 even with the 120 I've pulled out and 1/2 tank of gas. Craig Wilcox has...
