Re: EML light , P1498 code - What to do ?
Well, since November the weather has cooled down and I got the P1498 code again. Only when the temp was below freezing and the car set outside all afternoon. I took some time off over New years and did a 15% sc pulley mod/ Super damper replacement and while I had things apart I decided to replace th...

Re: Shop Day - Dec 12th, 2015
I have some coupons and store credit for Outmotoring and can get the Cravenspeed pulley and Gains belt there at lowest price that way. They say 535 is best , and 539 also works I already have Brisk racing DOR14LGS-T plugs in the car I put in a couple months ago. They are a colder plug , but I hear b...

Re: Shop Day - Dec 12th, 2015
Sounds great......I am ordering the 15% pulley. Now I have seen two belts suggested as ideal for 15% SC + stock damper combo in forum posts on NAM , and I don't know which to get K60535 - 1379mm or K60539 -1385mm . Also, would this be a good time to put on a new harmonic balancer just to be safe, or...

Re: EML light , P1498 code - What to do ?
I have put around 100 miles on the mini in the last couplevdays and no error codes....I am hoping that addressing the intercooler boots was all it needed.

Re: EML light , P1498 code - What to do ?
Well, I pulled the intercooler off today. Poked around at some lines and cleaned the boots . They had a bit of oily residue on them, but the rubber looks good and supple still. I took a bit of rubbing alcohol to them to get that off and really cleaned up and then I took a bit of scotch brite to the ...

EML light , P1498 code - What to do ?
Last night when driving home, in the EML light came on about 10 minutes into the drive. (05 Cooper S ) . I also have a digital UltraGauge in the OBDII and it throws a P1498 code ?!? I pulled into a rest area, turned off the car and back on. The light was off. Made it home fine. Peake reader showed n...

Re: Haven't done a Garage Day for a long time
Thanks Dave, I didnt realize that there were some tools available to use here. The tools needed that I priced were as much as the pulley kits and something that wouldn't get much use.

Re: Haven't done a Garage Day for a long time
The car has only 25K on it. I doubt it needs anything done to the SC. The oil is supposed to be lifetime. Mini says don't touch it. But I have been replacing things and looking at everything rubber and gasket on the car since I bought it used and its 10 years old. If I put a reduction pulley on the ...

Re: Dash Cams?
I have been thinking about this ThinkWare Cam. http://www.thinkware.com/Products/Dashcam/F750 . Mini makes a Camera system but I cannot seem to easily find it for an 05. Used to have them on ECS tuning. One concern of mine would be capturing careless drivers in parking lots. They make these motion a...

Re: Haven't done a Garage Day for a long time
Garage Day sounds great. The next things I have on the plate that I have been intimidated by are to install a reduction pulley to supercharger and changing oil and gasket in the SC.

Re: New to Forum/ Re-Striping the mini
Thanks Dave... The stripes went on pretty easy the second time around . I was upset to ruin those factory stripes but hey, it worked out good. I have been having a lot of fun tearing around L-town in the 78. My wife already named it Toby, so I do not have a say in that. So as soon as the weather tur...

New to Forum/ Re-Striping the mini
Hello, many thanks to MiniDave for directing me to this forum ! Jumping in with this weekends project. I had to have the front end of the 05 painted as my son fell on the bonnet with his bike and put a knee into the lower aero grill. That was a time consuming project (as I am sure those of you that ...
