Re: Modifications for R55 - N16 engine
May happen sooner or maybe later toward summer. Depends on the finances and my continued research. Every time I get close to pulling the trigger on the exhaust someone suggests that the muffler delete sounds better. I haven't found any real videos of muffler delete non-S cars driving apart from one...

AMVIV 2017
Anyone planning on going to AMVIV 2017? This event changed to an every other year event to accommodate MTTS. If you haven't made it out west to this event, I highly recommend going. I still say that this is my favorite event of all of the MINI events (MOTD, MITM, MTTS, MMW etc). It is a long drive, ...

Re: Modifications for R55 - N16 engine
That thought had crossed my mind but I remember finding some videos somewhere of R56 non-S with cat-backs in general doing highway driving and the drone wasn't really noticeable. If you have your stereo on like I usually do, it isn't noticeable at all and I usually have the stereo on to drown out t...

Re: Modifications for R55 - N16 engine
Looks like I'm heading toward a magnaflow exhaust from outmotoring and having Baron install it. Advantages are it's stainless steel and won't rust and also because there is a muffler if I ever sell the car it could pass inspection. I also like the subtle deep tone and the pop and burble it does whi...

Something is amiss at the Circle K. It is listed as an 07 and is clearly not an 07. Salvage title maybe?

Re: Any R56 Justa's out there with Muffler Delete?
Thought about it until I watched a video of one with the resonator removed. It sounded more ghetto and ricer than just the muffler delete. The muffler delete sounded so much better. But I want to hear one driving and the only ones I can see where one is driving it is a Cooper S Fair enough. I alway...

Re: Any R56 Justa's out there with Muffler Delete?
Toying with the idea of a muffler delete but every video is just some Buffoon revving the engine. I want to hear one drive around so I know what I would potentially be getting myself into before I cut off my muffler. Otherwise I'm going the magnaflow route because, while expensive, it's easier. Any...

Re: Modifications for R55 - N16 engine
Any muffler shops you would recommend in the area that could do this? I haven't had any exhaust work done out here in KS. If you really want to spend some money........perhaps you could buy an "S" style rear bumper cover and then you could run an S style dual exhaust. I don't know if ther...

Re: Modifications for R55 - N16 engine
Sounds like the option I'm going for. If I could I would get a JCW muffler but they don't make a single tip JCW muffler. They do make a muffler for the B-Spec racer but I hate the sound of it. I'm going to check the local muffler shops in the area. Unless you all might have a recommendation. This s...

I drove the route today and it is a nice, fun drive. There are some straight stretches of road but also a good mix of some curves. I love driving through these Kansas small towns.

Re: Modifications for R55 - N16 engine
I was initially toying with the idea of a magnaflow exhaust but was advised differently by someone who said they sound terrible. The suggestion was a Borla muffler perhaps. I thought maybe a good aftermarket muffler welded up to the original pipes or a custom bent system with a new aftermarket muff...

Re: Electrical issues - possible FRM
Agreed! Likely 1500-2000 otherwise. Was, indeed, the FRM. Cost me $0 to replace, but I did have them do several other items (oil change, brake fluid, serpentine), so it still cost me $400. Got a clubman all4 as a loaner for the day. Wow! The F series are quite a bit different than my R56S. Not sure...
