Re: Clubman Suspension
I went ahead and ordered that package. I have heard good things about the H&R springs and I have a ALTA swaybar on my 05 that I have been happy with. I do not think I would have paid full price but at 50% off I think it was a good deal.

Clubman Suspension
I need to upgrade the stock suspension on the clubman and Alta is having a sale right now. I am thinking of getting this package which should make for nice ride and better handeling. I would love the JCW suspension but I am afraid it would be much more expensive.

Re: The RETURN of the cold start chatter!
From what I have read on the various MINI sites, it seems that the fix only works part of the time. There have been a number of owners report that the chatter came back after the fix. Baron replaced the tensioner on mine about 3 weeks ago and so far so good.

I like it better than the hardtop. IF they keep the price around the same as the convertible this will probably be our next car.

That was a good run. The tour of the dairy barn was even fun. I have some pics here.

Re: KC Rally, October 17th (formerly Buffalo Run)
I don't suppose Baron wants to sponsor a team this year. I would love to go, but $250 is a little much.

Re: Balducci Winery Run, August 29th
I think somewhere on the east side on I-70 would be the best to meet up. Noland Rd has a wide selection of places to get gas and food. If we want to meet farther east, Woods Chapel Rd or 7-hwy in Blue Springs also have convenient places to gas and get food. Anyone have a preference?

Re: Balducci Winery Run, August 29th
I am figuring it will take a little more than 3 hours from Lees Summit Rd & i70 to the meeting spot. Does anyone want to meet up and caravan there?

They replaced the windshield and took care of a piece that broke off the passenger assist handle. I just have to take it back on Wednesday so they can tint it.

Re: MINI X1/Crossover out in the wild.
I am sort of diggin it. I have liked it from the first time I saw the concept pics. I for one hope they lose the double doors. Having that blind spot in an already small rear window is really distracting. (At least it was to me when I had a Clubman as a loaner) Does anyone know when this thing migh...

Re: Windshield Crack
I took it in this morning and they have to submit a picture to MINIUSA to get approval for the windshield replacement. They said that this was the first stress crack they had seen on a 2nd gen MINI. With the number of times service has told me that they have never seen a problem I had with the 05 I ...

Re: Windshield Crack
Wonder if the A-pillar moldings work differently on the Gen II cars? Seems those were a real problem on the 1st Gen cars when the windshields were replaced....... I hope they have fixed that problem. I spent $70 buying the molding that runs the length of the roof just to get the little 3" piec...

Re: Windshield Crack
The Binswanger here used to be a Harding Glass. As Harding they had done all of my parents glass work for years and since Binswanger bought them we have had 4 windshields put in various vehicles without a single problem. The I70 commute has been a killer on windshields.

Re: Windshield Crack
Where would you take your Mini for an aftermarket windshield installation in the KC area that you trust? Thanks We had Binswanger Glass do our 05 twice. We have to wait a while they order the glass from MINI and it was still cheaper than having Baron do it. They will do the third windshield some ti...

Windshield Crack
I went out to the garage this afternoon and found this on my new clubman. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_uetjlS4gZsM/SlAL0TO1LOI/AAAAAAAADGc/qf3lXPxoX8U/s400/DPP_0006.JPG I only have 6 weeks and 1,300 miles on this one, at least the '05 made it most of a year before it had a stress crack. We were out yesterd...

Re: New Member of the Family
9 whole inches! That's it?! When I was looking at a clubman they looked alot bigger than a hardtop Mini... That 9 inches makes a huge difference in the available space and it still drives like a MINI. We have made a grocery trip and a visit to the hardware store and that extra space makes it much e...

I took some pictures of the two MINIs together. No............you've got it backwards............. One of the whole points of buying a new MINI is to then take a great road trip in it! I've done one and have 2 or 3 more planned for this year already......... We wanted to do the South Dakota and Colorado trips this year but with paying the...
