Another tire option is the Continental ExtremeContact DWS. I had 205/50/16 on our 2009 Honda Fit and they were very good tires.

Though honestly I bet most of these will be just fine for standard driving so get what is in stock.

Why not just run the OEM size of 195/55/16?

205/50/16 won't look good as it has a smaller sidewall than stock (4.0in vs 4.2in).
205/55/16 may have issues as it is taller (4.4in vs 4.2in).

A r53 with Sport package will ride very rough compared to any r56 (sport or no). I highly doubt going from 17's to 16's will make any noticeable difference for your system. Are you running the stock base 6 speaker setup w/ the flush sub? What did you go with for that setup? My 06 MINI had the HK upgrade, really wish my '12 did...miss it. Technically I have an old-ish Xtant/MTX setup but it is way overkill for the car (500x1 class D and a single 12" in a sealed box).

Do the headlight rings come body colored on the JCW now or did you paint them? Car looks great though. Maybe someday you can scare up a set of the black-housed headlights for it, would look perfect with the blacked out grill and stripes.

I will say that I much prefer the exhaust note of mine vs the new one.

I like the Ice Blue you picked as well. I normally dislike blue on cars, but they had a hardtop in Ice Blue with white roof and mirror caps and it looked great. I'd totally rock that with the wood-grain dash and pretend there was a beach somewhere near by.

I have a 2006 Cooper S Convertible (R52) and have a loaner 2011 Cooper S Hardtop (R56).

So I have a loaner overnight while my R52 is in for service. Have to say, this 2011 S pretty much blows the doors off my poor 06 S.
