By "Iowa" you basically mean "Southern Minnesota" right? Okoboji is wayyy up there. I actually went to HS in Algona.

Yea I've heard good things about the IE plates and those are likely what I will go with along w/ Koni FSD and TSW springs.

Good topic, as I will likely do this when I (hopefully) do my suspension work this summer on my 06.

Re: The Blue Meanie has a new owner
Motegi is hit or miss on wheels. Most of their wheels are very, VERY heavy. For the cost you can typically get other brands that offer better/lighter wheels. Rota, despite all the negativity around them for being a knock-off company, makes good, cheap, light wheels. The ones you posted though are pa...

Epic Rally Story
http://jalopnik.com/5497042/how-to-win-a-professional-auto-race-with-a-500-car This is the multifaceted tale of Bill Caswell, a man who bought a $500 crapcan off Craigslist to run against the $400,000+ rally cars in the World Rally Championship's Rally Mexico race earlier this month. It is a tale of...

We used to have a Yaris sedan and a Yaris hatchback. Pretty slow.
Our Fit is about the same.

Re: It begins...
Let me know how the beltline blackout kit works. I would love to de-chrome my MINI at some point. Of course that means I'd need the aero upper/lower grille, joey-modded headlights, color-matched rings, color-matched door-handles, then black out the rest. Bleh, pretty sure whoever originally ordered ...

Dog needs home!
I don't suppose anybody on the site would be interested in a Doberman/Greyhound mix? Loki is a male, about 4.5 years old, 70lbs, fixed, and current on all shots. He is a very, VERY high energy dog and deserves a place with a yard and an active owner to care for him. http://www.deathguard.org/temp/lo...

Re: How to put photo in profile
File size has nothing to do with the dimensions of the image. An avatar needs to be under a certain dimension AND have a smaller file-size. What program are you using to resize the picture? What format is the picture in? Typically I'd use JPG/JPEG for an avatar as its going to be the smallest in fil...

VNV Nation - April 7th, Granada
Not sure if anybody on the site is into electronic music much, but I am helping promote this show. Highly recommended for anybody who likes electronic music in any form; VNV Nation are a fantastic band and very good live. They also don't come to the US too often, especially to smaller cities. http:/...

http://www.autoblog.com/2010/02/05/kansas-city-man-wins-trip-to-england-for-logging-most-topless-ho/ Ever wonder what possible use the Openometer could have? The tiny dashboard gauge is found only in the Mini convertible and tracks the number of hours a Mini motorist has been driving with the top do...

Re: Well its not a MINI...
I've always been a fan of Honda's manual transmissions. Very very smooth shifting. I had a 03 SI for a little bit and test drove a 08 SI. The 08 especially was the easiest clutch I've ever driven. Our Fit is an auto though since my wife can't/won't drive stick and I am lazy at this point. Then again...

Well its not a MINI...
But its small at least! We traded our 08 Nissan Xterra in for a 09 Honda Fit. Since my wife doesn't have her horse anymore (time/money/etc. ran out) we didn't have a need for a 4x4. Picked up a 09 Fit Sport with Navigation. This is what it looks like (not my pictures, ones I found online of the same...

Re: :(
So my washer jets have decided to not work...fantastic. Plenty of fluid, I can hear it "working" but nothing sprays, just a little dribble from the nozzle on the hood. Is the nozzle frozen? Or perhaps the fluid? The fluid you buy during the Spring-Fall freezes once it gets cold, and I've ...

Re: MINI Roadster Concept
Since the top is basically right behind you I don't see an issue with it being a manual top. I will agree that I'm not a huge fan of the "top-up" look, perhaps if it had a black top it would look better. I love the profile of the car with the layed back windshield though! The black "j...

Re: New owner with a few questions...
I'm not sure if there are any changes on the new MINI vs. the older (I have an 06) but on the 06 there are two hex bars coming out of the back of the headlight that are grooved on the end for a flathead screwdriver. The inner-most one adjusts up and won (loosening it raises them) and the inner is th...
