Re: Forum & iPhone browser?
I have seen several articles online about Safari in iOS having the Accept Cookies option flip itself to Never without human intervention. I think in the future, if anyone experiences problem using the forums with an iOS device, checking that cookies are allowed is probably a safe first step. -Rich

phpBB Upgraded to 3.0.10
FYI - I upgraded the board to the latest release of phpBB yesterday. New releases have been very stable with the 3.x.x series so I don't anticipate any problems but if you think you've spotted a bug, please let me know.

Domain Transfers
I have changed domain registrars from godaddy.com to namecheap.com this evening - I don't expect there to be any service disruption to KCME.
When the process is complete the two KCME domains will be registered through Feb. of 2014 - so hopefully by then I'll have a MINI again >^.^<

Re: Forum & iPhone browser?
I haven't changed anything with the server configs for months. Have you tried clearing your browser cache/cookies etc? Restarting safari and/or the phone may also be beneficial. I'm typing this on my iPhone 4 running iOS 5 so I'm not experiencing the problem described above. To clear your cookies an...

I miss my MINI
You guys and gals are probably the only people who wouldn't think me crazy to post this. But I really miss my MINI. I miss my xenon headlights. I miss my heated seats. I miss my ridiculously loud magnaflow exhaust. I miss the whine of my supercharger. I miss the ginormous speedometer in the middle o...

Re: Mobile device request -iPhone droid etc
I can't seem to get the software to properly install without having to go super crazy and muck about with the internals by hand. I'll keep trying periodically since I had *just* updated the phpBB version before trying and the auto instal package may not have been ready for that. But I haven't forgot...

Login Difficulties
Hi Everyone- I've just now been told about the login troubles that people have been recently encountering getting into the KCME forums. The forum software is currently at the most recent release version, so there is no maintenance/upgrade for me to perform (yet). I have no proof, but my suspicion is...

Domain Name Renewals
Just a friendly reminder that the kcminiacs.org domain needs to be renewed by 2/11/2011 and kcminiclub.com needs to be renewed by 2/21/2011. It appears that GoDaddy.com (the service with whom our domains are registered) is running a special and both domains can be renewed for two years for $40.72 at...

Password Security
I just wanted to swoop in and gently remind everyone that its a good idea to occasionally change your online passwords. I have no reason to suspect that you need to worry about it here since they're encrypted in the database but its a good idea to switch things around every so often :) KCME website ...

Hey everyone,
I'm just stopping by to make sure everything is working as expected and to see if there was anything you all needed me to do for the website.
Happy motoring,
Rich

Changes under the KCME bonnet
Hi Everyone! I wanted to let you all know that effective immediately all KCME emails and correspondence from the forums will now be "from" the email address dispatch@kcminiclub.com rather than my personal kangamini@mac.com address. If you use a whitelist or any other type of SPAM filtering...

Re: Weird Accident
Minidave- that's good news! Counterfit- The xB may get worse mileage, but I can haul stuff/people in one trip what I would previously have needed two or three trips to carry at two or three times the miles to transport. My trip back from Kentucky (650 miles) got an average of 27 mpg (highway, mostly...

Re: Downtime (May 21 & 22)
As a follow up to this - some people have emailed saying that they're still prompted to download the viewtopic.php file - if that is the situation I recommend clearing your browsers cache and that should clear up any lingering problems.

Re: Weird Accident
I don't know about Corollas but I've driven Camry's as rental/loaners and they were a little odd too. But I like my xB - its suits me just fine and the 2.6L engine feels almost as sporty as my former Cooper-S engine. But after almost two years I am STILL not over losing my GETRAG 6-speed tranny, my ...

Downtime (May 21 & 22)
Hello everyone, I just wanted to apologize for the downtime last night and this morning. My hosting company upgraded the backend software that runs the software for the forums and a few other websites I run (PHP) and something went goofy in the process. Apparently all of my sites were set to use ver...

Re: Weird Accident
Back in 2004 or so, I hit a bird once whilst motoring on my way to work in Lawrence on K-10 one morning. I saw it coming and fortunately it hit the front windshield instead of any metal. I was probably going a typical 75-80 mph and I have no idea how fast the bird was going... It left a greasy spot ...
