Re: I want a classic. FINALLY, SOME UPDATES
Hey Folks, I fished this thread out of the ancient history archives, dusted off the photo uploader and Voila, here's a current photo: If and when it snows again this season, I hope to get out with a camera and shoot some wintery, holiday-looking photos. This is not my farm... Found this property nea...

Re: November gathering, Saturday the 14th Lee's Summit
Thank you Bentley and other organizers as this event was very fun and the route was great. Great to see new folks coming to these events. Keep your eyes open on the Grassroots thread as we ought to get a Sadler's indoor go-cart event set up for this winter, too.

Oh... I forgot to mention that my classic hit about 110mph on the main straight before shutting it down for turn one at HPT. Anything above 80mph feels insane in that cracker box.

Re: Was That You....
I think the #65 classic mini showed up at Baron's MINI 50 party that most folks missed due to the Royals game night w/hagar. I also saw the #65 classic on the Plaza and at a residence in Roeland Park just off Roe near Johnson Drive. I've also seen a red classic with checkered top twice this month in...

Re: November gathering, Saturday the 14th Lee's Summit
I've driven my P'up every day this week and left my freshly detailed daily driver, the '06 JCW MCS, in the garage. I'm beginning to think it might be nice to join all of you for the Saturday drive and not have to wear ear plugs--and it would also be nice to be in a car quiet enough to use a two-way ...

Re: What is YOUR next mod??
The mod I need for my Vtec pick-up is a better set of earplugs. As for my 2006 JCW MCS daily driver... it's pure joy w/minimum mods beyond the basic JCW factory components and JCW suspension.

Count me in. If no rain, I'll bring the P'up. If it looks like rain, I'll bring the JCW.

A hitch-mount benefit for mountain bikes is that if you do a ride in really nasty muck, and accumulate lots of mud, etc., it won't drip onto your car during the return trip home...

I spotted a red classic Mini with checkered top at Ward Parkway and Sommerset this morning--and better yet, it was being driven appropriately--FAST!
I just love that! Makes me feel good to see these little scramblers blurring past all the silver SUVs.

Re: Just a few pics finally for ya...
Yup, I agree. Very nice. I haven't driven a Gen2 JCW, but if it's anything like my '06, you must have a permanent grin. I'm at year #3, and my honeymoon isn't even close to being over.

Re: Finally got one!
Congrats and welcome to madness! Our cars are nearly identical, except mine has a black top. I chose the old english panther leather interior with graphite accents because I liked the subtle tone on tone colors. BRG is awesome. It looks black on dark days, yet shows up green on sunny days. How cool ...

Re: Bike Racks
I have the factory roof rack for my first gen. '06 MCS. It's an awesome rack and can be removed or installed in literally 5 minutes with just one person. I leave mine off unless I'm doing regular cycling because there's noticeable wind noise with just the rack. It's nice around town, but at highway ...

Re: Oxygen sensor warranty extension
Got mine during same time frame. Took the car for a warranty replacement of leaking motor mount and while there I asked Baron about the O2 sensor letter (I had already forgotten that it was a warranty extension and confused it with a recall notice). The SA said it was like a two-edge sword... if the...

Re: Need Help shrooms!
ksminiman- I put the M7 plates on my '06 shortly after purchasing it new. I honestly can't tell you whether they have saved me or not. I figured a $100 preventative bolt on was worth cost and effort. I had no problem reusing the OE nuts--maybe because the car was still factory fresh. Granted, I don'...

Yep, 4K is where the power begins--not ends. In appropriate conditions, 4K-to redline makes for really adventurous motoring and the rev. limiters really do work.

Re: Friday Meet sometime?
Fridays (or Friday eves or nights)are fine for me. This has been a very unusual summer for me regarding MINI/mini gatherings as I have either had work or family conflicts with 95% of the events, including the friggen wedding I have to attend on the same night as Baron's halloween party later this mo...

George-
Have to admit, I'm lacking optimism for the weather to be in our favor. I'll pass, too. As for need for speed... we can do a Sadler's go cart event or maybe a slightly spirited drive with a few other Minis before the winter crud sets in.

Will you be using the hitch to tow your classic or just bikes? I've toyed with the idea of the hitch for use with my P'up.

Re: MINI Roadster Concept
I love the roadster, and agree that speedster is a better name. I'm not sure whether I like the coupe. Gives me the same kind of love/hate affair that I have with current Lotus Elises. I think I like the looks of the roadster with the top up. I even like the white hounds tooth accents. What I don't ...

Yikes, Alex. You have had your share of animals. Who would think that a cat could do that level of damage. Let's hope your Carma is now in sync with the motoring cosmos.
