Re: MINI Max has a New Little Brother, Buzz

If you remove too many of the rattles and other noise makers, Buzz might have to be renamed Purr. You could give him a proper last name, like Pudwell from Yorkshire. I still can't get over the fact that your car came with a notebook full of maintenance records and proper UK registration docs spannin...

As usual, an AWESOME event! Thank you Johnna and John for all the VOLUNTEER hours it takes to pull together something like this. It was great to see such a resounding turnout and equally lovely to have a truly beautiful spring day to boot! Glad to see folks who enjoyed some of the back roads of KCK....

Re: Classic Mini Fun Run - Part the Third! UPDATE March 20-2

I've officially requested clear, spring weather--yet to hear back from the office of procurement, though. The wagon wheel motel is fun because it's nostalgic and next to decent BBQ! The drive there is pretty fun--how often do you get to caravan down the highway with a gaggle of minis? Speaking of mu...

Re: Saturday March 15th, Johnna's Tour de Donut, 7:30 a.m.

Let's see... St Pats Westport 4mile silly run begins at 10 am. just how Many donuts do I need to fuel myself to a respectful finish, with or w/out the green jello-shots in the final 400meters? Darn it, I hate it when my vices compete w/ each other. I'll need to figure out how many donut shops I can ...

I damn near have a donut-free diet... But I'm in for at Least the first 1.5 hrs. After that, there's the annual Westport St. Pats Run that is begging me to return. :D

Re: Go Camping With Your MINIs

I love the series of photos. These remind me of the vintage photos of 20-something hipsters posing with classic minis. I like to imagine what the models are thinking while they're contorting to climb inside the cars. I like the white gravel sprinkled out onto the campsite grounds--makes for a much c...

I think every MINI owner should have a Mini (or at least test drive a classic). That's a fun video and it gives you a feel for what these little tin cans are about. Did I say tin can? Tin cars. :D

Re: What did your MINI get for Christmas

My JCW got new Blizzaks. Bring on the snow! Finally I can now get up my steep, northern driveway that rarely melts while there's snow.

For the P'up, I bought a stainless steel header, which will require some nifty engineering for proper fit, but should be pretty nice when done. :D

Re: Coupe repair -- again

Davester-

Thanks for the post. My wife's 2011 countryman has a little oil leak on the passenger side. I'm pretty sure it has the same engine--And likely the same problem with the same consequences if we don't get it taken care of as soon as possible.

Wow...

The tranny's out-- but so is the engine, basically.
Nothing subtle about a MINI clutch replacement.

Re: JCW Paceman

I'm sorry but I think the paceman looks like a chubby, ugly little brother to the countryman. Same goes with the series one to the series 3 BMW. Sad to see MINI becoming so MAXIe and butt ugly. Why couldn't the paceman be something really cool like in MCS all-wheel-drive? Next thing we'll be seeing ...

Re: Fall Fun Drive & Gathering, Sunday October 21st

Not to jinx the event, but the forecast calls for 70F and mainly sunny--perfect weather for the classics in the club. I'll drive the Pup.
Fiat owners don't want to come out and play? Weird!

I'm glad that there is a MINI/mini culture and even more so, that we get out on the roads and enjoy the cars.

Re: KC All British Car & Cycle Show, Sunday September 2nd, 2

Hey, I'd like to go. Amazing... I'm actually in town this year during an automotive event! My guess is that this is a good move, too, as I think the show was getting a bit stale and losing exhibitor interest in the old location. Change of venue is good. Ok, now that I've stated a change of venue mig...

Personally, I wouldn't want to impair the limited rearview vision in the coupe. It looks large enough that it might be in your sight line. A buddy of mine who owned a Subby STI (the one with a picnic table-sized rear spoiler) hated his spoiler as it often made him flinch while driving in heavy traff...
