Seth, same carb as yours, I'll be tearing it down this week, maybe bring yours down to my shop and we can check it over too - I think that's where your problem is - I think you have a sticking float.

Unless it's down for parts, that's the plan......

I have a number of things I need to do to it before the Classic Mini Fun Run on the 20th.

Alrighty then, after only 3 hours of jousting with officialdom, Buzz is now a duly inspected, licensed, taxed, registered and plated member of Kansas society.

Today it's 75* and the temp gauge actually got up to the middle of "normal", without the fan kicking on.....the fan does come on a few minutes after I shut it off tho, as it should.

The alternator light has quit flashing at me completely, don't know WHAT that was all about, and I have parts on the way to fix the most egregious oil leaks. Things are moving forward for our first event this weekend - the donut run.

Then next week we leave for the Missouri Ozarks and a weekend of hooning about the hills with half dozen other classics. Should be fun!

No point at all

Very cool. I definitely want a ride in it at some point. Never been in a classic Mini.

The driver's seat was really beat down, like a 400 lb person had been in there so I stripped the cover off, bought some new foam and re-padded the seat, it sits much better now. When you watch ol Wheeler Dealers, Edd China's always installing a nice set of seat squabs and covers on whatever little English car project he's working on, but I could not find anyone in the states who sold just the foam parts, so I had to make my own.

Now on to the wood dash repairs and wiring issues.....

Next challenge, now that the seat is done - dash rattles - which is how Buzz got his name!

I made some new clips to replace the missing ones on the wood dash insert, I also shimmed the glove box door catch and put felt along the edges where it contacts the plastic covered dash......just to make sure I put a dab of epoxy on those tabs to give a tiny bit more strength. We'll see if it makes any difference....

Next I'm going to do a little straightening out on that wiring mess.....

If you remove too many of the rattles and other noise makers, Buzz might have to be renamed Purr. You could give him a proper last name, like Pudwell from Yorkshire. I still can't get over the fact that your car came with a notebook full of maintenance records and proper UK registration docs spanning it's entire lifespan--how normal! Only thing I know about my frankenmini is that it began life dressed in green.
