Wheel Opinions

Post by Minidave »

Seth loaned me his 13's while my 10's are out being balanced - whadya think? Bear in mind that 12's were standard on this year car, not 10's and 13's were an option on later cars.

I like them both, but voted for 10s to spare you the grief issued by other Classic drivers about your car not being a "real" Mini if you are rolling on anything other than 10s.

I'm laughing at RagTopDay's comment. I like them both, but I think I like the 10's better(maybe 'cause they color coordinate with the car.

Yes, "real" Minis roll on 10's....................and 12's................and 13's, direct from the factory!

I don't know why people are so fixated on the 10's, but I posted this question in several places around the net, and the overwhelming opinion has been if it's not on 10's, it's not a Mini.

Sheesh!

Normally I'd vote the 13's all day long. But I think I prefer the 10's on yours. As mentioned above, the color looks better.

Having seen Buzz today, I have to say that the 13s look really good. They fit nice and tight under his arches and just give it a really nice look.

I was at this fancy pants Euro car show with air conditioned tents and such. Someone there told me it was "against the rules" to put chrome on a MINI. That thing about 10's, it's probably in the same book. So far I haven't been able to locate a copy of it. I just keep collecting trophies in the meantime...

Wow! The difference is stunning!

I really like both looks, but leaning toward the 10s for a more classic vibe.

I still would like to know if there is any vibration with the 13's and how does it ride? I like the color match. :D

I still have the dash all apart, once I get it all together again I'll drive it and let you know, but Seth said they were smooth on his car.

There is no vibration with the 13s. They are balanced very nicely. There is a heavier feel to the steering. However, once at speed (with a proper alignment) it isn't noticeable.

I think you need both! Toy cars need accessories to fit the mood of the day (or season, or event).
As for color preference, I like gold better.
