Spark Plug Issues

Post by CowboyCoop »

Found it rather interesting that 3 months ago the 2011 mini Convertable went into limp mode. with the Half engine light showing. Poor power, stuttering, and pure poor performance. Limped it to Barron, and find out the Sparkplugs failed. 3 months later the 2012 Mini Clubman has the exact same issue, with the excact same diagnose, failed sparkplugs. Is this a common issue? Or just pure bad luck. I was quoted a higher price on the clubman, then the Convertable , I balked at the price difference, than was called back a few minutes later and was told it was a human error figuring in the Labor. Kind of makes me wonder a bit. Always been happy with Barron, and will stay happy with them.

PS> The Convertable had 55 thousand miles, the Clubman has 59 thousand miles.

60K is the recommended change interval for plugs on the MINIs IIRC......
