Strut Bearing Replacement

Post by Zack »

About to start working on replacing my strut bearings. I did the ones on CarFreak427's car and the results were pretty good. So I am going to be posting the project on my car as soon as I begin. Once if is completed you will see pictures and instructions.

It's all done. Going for a shake down run to make sure everything is tight in a bit. Looks good. Sits about 2" higher off the ground now. Those bushings were really gone. The new ones are firmly in place 1/2" of so below the strut towers.

This is the step by step (minus captions) from start to finish of my strut bearing replacement. I had a friends shop do the bearing replacement as I wanted to make sure the bearings were attached. The job can be done easily with other hand tools but takes more time. Enjoy the pictures.

Look how much you've learned in only a short time! A year ago you would have never tackled this job on your own.....good job, Zack!

It was actually a lot of fun. Haha. May tackle that leaking oil cooler gasket later as well. Saved a lot of money. The failed bearings have a lifetime warranty so parts cost me nothing.
