Lately, when I reply to a post I get the following error message after I hit the submit button:
Failed sending email :: PHP ::

DEBUG MODE

Line : 234
File : emailer.php

I dunno if this is happening to anyone else, but it's happened to me three times in the last week. Just thought I'd pass this along.

I started receiving the same error message today after my posts also. My replies are being updated to the posts though.. (obviously  )

Does this message look like phpBB or does it look like the webserver is sending it? I'll try to investigate but I have no idea what I can do if I do find something screwy. phpBB has released version 3 and I don't believe they are furthering development on version 2, which is what this board runs on.

If anyone else is getting these, it would be helpful if you could email me a screen shot of the error message if possible.

Also - what browser/os combination you're experiencing this error with might be of assistance.

w000t

According to the intarwebsite at http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article/explana ... 234-error/ this message is thrown if the mail settings on my server aren't set properly.

I doubt that's the case, since I receive topic notifications all the time. It might just be the server being overloaded at that point or some similar type of event. Keep track of it for me, and if you notice it getting worse let me know and I'll submit to the torture of Helpdesk Hell to try to smooth out the kinks.

So what happened? Someone forget to make the monthly payment?

Actually I'm prepaid for the next 617 days.

The account was offline for the same reason as last time "suspicious" files were found on a scan and the hosting provide can't explain to me how, after following all their security precautions, this is still happening. I've disabled the website that keeps causing these problems and, according to my hosting provider we shall "wait and see" if it happens again. Their words, not mine...

:saywhat:

Next step is for me to request they move my account to a completely different server, since I'm tired of doing everything they ask me to do and them not being able to fix it.
