I've "surprised" a number of supposedly faster cars over the years in my JCW, mostly at Heartland Park tho.

There was this one Mustang tho, we'd been hitting a series of stop lights and each time he'd nail it hard and I just cruised, ignoring him. He just had this attitude tho, thought his tin pony was all that and a bag of chips or sumthin.........finally I took the bait......I beat him so bad he just shut it down after about 5 secs.......I think I pulled 3 lengths when I hit 2nd gear........that was all I needed, point made! :D

When he caught up to me at the next light, all that attitude was somehow ..............gone. He was very subdued as he left the next light  .......

Hey Jeff, long time no hear..........

No, my '03 MCS is a JCW.......which I'm driving today. 8) :D

I tend to be a little more relaxed in my driving style in the Clubby, although I have had it to Heartland Park twice already where it aquitted itself pretty well!

I hit 110 by the end of the front straight............ :D

115 in the JCW on a previous day, when it was cool out and there was a pretty good tail wind.

Yep. And amazingly enough there are two electric blue MINIs in Lawrence now. Mine, EB/W with white wheels, and another EB/W with silver wheels. As minidave can attest, it's a rare color so to have two of us in Lawrence is pretty cool. :D

Do I venture and say any in Ft. Riley/Manhattan/Junction City area? I've seen a handful on base. I actually saw a classic MINI today, and I was made fun of in how surprised I was to see one, lol.

I saw this Classic last Wednesday in Westport, then again over the weekend in a driveway on Roe. Beautiful car, sliding windows, no wipers, Bauhaus plate. 8)

Yeah, we were up at Lake Perry, just enjoying a warm sunny Sunday and puttin some miles on the cars. I used to live right where that green space is we were parked in front of - that was when I was service manager at the Marina and to my surprise many of the boats I saw parked there that day are the same ones I used to work on back then - 40 years ago!

I love the illusion your camera portrays of the awkward looking wheels, lol.

So who had the lowered R56 with all the JCW goodies and carbon fiber all over it at the Barnes & Noble from Independance Center, next to AMC.. I think it was Sat morning?? Looked very good!

I think the #65 classic mini showed up at Baron's MINI 50 party that most folks missed due to the Royals game night w/hagar. I also saw the #65 classic on the Plaza and at a residence in Roeland Park just off Roe near Johnson Drive. I've also seen a red classic with checkered top twice this month in Brookside/Plaza area. Anyone familiar with it?

Oh... I forgot to mention that my classic hit about 110mph on the main straight before shutting it down for turn one at HPT. Anything above 80mph feels insane in that cracker box.
