Post by Minidave »

It's on!

October 13th, 9am - Be there or be square! :D

Here's what we're planning so far....

:ps: :indi: :elec: :brg: :chili: :brg:

Zackattack.............sort shifter and rear sway bar
Blueberry...............tensioner or idler
MiniDave................host and chief donut tester
Clubby Clutch..........hands dirtier
eronning................pulley kit
Dimini...................super-helper-visor and expert donut tester

Right now the weather guessers are saying sunny, 70* and a chance of scattered thunderstorms for Sat, I'll update as we get closer to the weekend.

Don't forget, new guy brings Krispy Kremes and coffee!

Hey Dave, we're doing the sway bar but I was curious since the car will be off the ground if we could also do the Helix short shift?

Sorry I can't make it this Saturday, I'm headed up to K-State for a visit.

I look forward to next time. Meanwhile, I'm making two lists: 60,000 mile maintenance items, and favorite doughnut toppings.

Since we are doing the short shift and sway bar, I was thinking while I'm at it I may rotate the tires if needed since the car will already be off the ground.

Ok, I found out that I don't have to be on the K-State bus until 3 pm, so I'm in. I'm replacing the belt and reducing the pulley and doing plugs (I just ordered the basic Way Motor Works package).

Any help from a previous pulley pull party participant is appreciated!

Thanks.

What is the consensus on replacing plug wires when you replace plugs? Overkill?

I'm not planning on doing plug wires, unless there is some reason why I should....

Overkill. The one thing you should do (and we will) is clean the contacts where the wires plug into the coil, that will do as much for the car as anything.

OK, thanks, no new plug wires.

I'm the new guy, so I'm in for the Krispy Kremes and coffee.

Unfortunately, I am unable to make it. Realized I had a college visit on Saturday morning. Would stop by after but I have homecoming after...

See you all at the next one!

I hate to say this but my dad and I are not going to be able to come to shop day.
We were going to bring my sister's 05 MCS but she has to work all day Saturday....Hopefully we can try to make it to another shop day soon!

Thanks again,

That was awesome, and much appreciated. My Mini now has a new (unplanned) motor mount that doesn't leak, a new belt, new plugs and a new SC pulley.

Thanks to Dave, Don and Zach.

It was fun actually helping to remove stuff and install things on a car. Haven't done that for a while. I am still sore from crawling around under my car to install the sway bar. Works great. Just gotta iron out a few...clanks...and clunks.

It runs perfectly. The supercharger whines just a bit earlier, in a good way! It is smooth and seems quicker, as long as I'm not trying to show two friends (in the car) how fast it is....

It is by far my favorite car, and it just got better.
