Fast Fridays KC Trends, Friday 7/26, Meet at 6:15 at Culvers

UPDATE: We will meet at Culvers at 135th and Antioch and leave from there at 6:15.

Would anyone like to meet up for Fast Fridays at KC Trends, 13300 Grandview in OP? It's a non-judged gathering of everything from exotic cars to muscle cars to...well, MINIs and Minis!

Officially, it starts at 7, but lots of cars show up much earlier. Perhaps we could plan to meet up at the Hy-Vee nearby around 6:15 and roll in together? Mcconned has some insight into this event, maybe he will share his parking pointers.

Afterwards, we could grab a bite to eat or drinks nearby. So who's in?

Johnna, I'd be happy to share my wisdom and experience to whoever. I've gone to many of these over the years and the cars range from Lambo's, Ferrari's, Masseratti's, to Honda Civics.

Re. eating afterwards, you can't spit in any direction without hitting a restaurant. Blue Moon is directly across the street south and, of course, 135th street is basically all restaurants and bars.

There's usually a food vendor there. Blue moose is pretty crowded.
Tons of neat cars, engine swaps and cycles.

It might be a good idea to meet up somewhere, maybe get a bite to eat before we head over to KC Trends. Their parking lot is not large and it tends to fill up by about 5 pm (they say), so we probably won't be parking real close to the event.

I went down there today to scope it out, the Blue Moose is right next door, or there's Culvers just down the street. Also HiVee has a huge parking lot but it's about 1 block away.

People tend to park all around the group of shops next to KC Trends. Some park in the street on the east side of KC Trends.
Why not do the Culver's drive thru & moter over to claim parking spots?

That's fine, but the way they talked there won't be any place to park around the area....the road is torn up directly east of the KC trends parking lot.

Meet at Culver's then, 6 pm?

I've been out there for a couple Fast Fridays and witnessed how and where people park.

It is a strange arrangement for a cruise-in. The lot adjacent to the shop isn't that big. The lots to the south park up full with restaurant business. There are lots scattered to the west where people park, and they are disjointed.

I have seen that the lot to the north west seems to be the best chance to actually get parked together. See this map for details: http://goo.gl/maps/Kkzur

The event has grown tremendously since it's inception....maybe more than KC Trends imagined. That has undoubtedly lead to the spreading around other lot's, etc.

This is the closest thing Kansas City has to a Car's & Coffee, unfortunately.

Sure, folks can meet up and eat wherever/whenever they want. I wasn't thinking about an eat-before gathering since some of us may be hustling to get there that early on a work day. But whatever y'all wanna do works for me. I'll be there in time to leave at 6:15 as long as there are no further construction obstacles preventing us Northlanders from leaving.
