Seems the president of LABCC has transferred to Des Moines. He shared a message with the British Car Club of Iowa inviting them to the event.

He said:

" LABCC will be holding the 3rd Annual Sunflower Rallye on Sunday, October 13th. It will begin at Centennial Park - East Side, 2124 W 9th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044. Expected to be about 130-150 miles and take about 3 hours for the course. This part of Kansas is very pretty with rolling hills. All roads will be paved. An optional meal will follow the event."

Anyway, wanted to get the word out there for all of you.

So when they say all cars are invited, do they mean all British cars or all cars regardless of nationality?

Silly question, but what is involved in one of these? I've never been to one, so I'm not sure what to expect.

Thx.

I have looked all over their website and their Facebook page. I don't see any way of contacting them to ask questions.

Generally these rallies are open to all cars. I drove a 59 Cev Biscayne many, many years ago.
It is a TSD rally. Time, speed , distance. You must follow a pre-determined route at a specified speed ( which can change many times in each section ). Super math skills are very useful.
For your first rally just concentrate on staying on course. The rally master is always trying to trick you.
Google TSD Rally and I am sure you'll find lots of info.

Thanks for the clarification. I am very active in the SCCA Road Rallys and as Da Mini points out, if this is your first, concentrate on staying on course, which is easier than many think.
On the SCCA Rally you are given specific instructions such as "Drive X miles to Main Street and turn right on Smith Street. Go Y miles to Jones Road and turn right." The SCCA Rallys are on paved roads.
If this is open to all cars I may sneak a Japanese car in it. ;)
