Lake Garnett Grand Prix Revival - 11 Oct 2014

by SWT CHI
Early REGISTRATION opens 1 JULY
The website is live http://www.lggpr.org

The LGGPR, Inc. committee has allocated up to 9 cars from KCME. For those of you with classics (John, Dave, Seth, others...), LGGPR, Inc. would enjoy your participation if you are able. Registration for those over the initial 9 will open to everyone on 1 AUG.

There are 120 track allocations; however, the car show and autocross allocations are limitless.

Clubs that have agreed to serve in an organizational capacity to help increase attendance will be locals for Trimuphs, MINIs, Miatas, MGs, Datsun Z, Cobras, and some others that I am remiss for mentioning. The CORN MINI chapter will also be attending the redux.

It will be an all-day event and your registration will include:
BBQ lunch
autocross at the Garnett Municipal Airport
Poker run about town
Closed track events in 4 or more classes
Parade through town escorted by the local PoPo
Car Show and prize giveaways

Registration is set to open JULY 1

I have up to 9 spots reserved for KCME. If you have an interest, please reply so I can get your name on the reserved registration list.

...I plan to drop all the names on the list, even if we have more than 9.
However, first 9...

Went down and drove the course today (and stopped for BBQ in Ottawa). This looks like a lot of fun. Should be able to get a decent head of speed up down the long straight and the turns on the other side of the lake are pretty tight. My only concern is the safety requirements. Does anybody know which group is required to have the roll bar? I'd like to run in Group C, but don't want to cut up the car for a roll bar. I've already got everything else.

there are no additional safety requirements: whatever came stock on your ride, you're good to go. I do not believe that helmets are required; although, the list of "recommendations" is exhaustive, and paternal.

Two words for y'all:
1. if you decide to go it's going to be a freaking blast...!
2. don't get suckered into volunteering...

Best advice I have for y'all: check the http://www.lgg ... or] for current information, 'cos I don't know Jack. Shoots, the only thing I'm changing lately are diapers. I got bored with the Board and more than kinda checked out about 6 weeks ago. It's summer... and the surf's up in North SD county, Johnny! Seriously, my happiness is more important than sitting in a dungeon debating who's club is volunteering for what; or potatoe salad or potatoe chips... For as long as I can remember, and from what little I understand: KCME is officially an unofficial club, and for seuth... I'm not even a prospect.

Details continue to change by the minute with this gang of paternal misfits. Dad is to open registration on Tuesday, July 1... so fellas, get your postmark on the damn registration form as soon as possible. You see, dear old Dad is quite particular 'bout the order of who's envelope shows up 1st, 2nd, etc... Dad said he'd hold 9, so we get up to 9... If you are #10, then I'll still submit the entire list in the order posted.

If you've posted interested, there is no commitment from you... but I will forward the list of names onto Secretary Dad late tomorrow evening... Meaning: June 30.

Some of you I don't even know your full names, so please help me out here. PM or post up please.

WTF?

I think the event sounds fun but it is hard to determine.

Seth, it's going to be a blast. I've been working on the Board dealing with the minutae to a mind-numbing extent. A lot of energy had been put in thus far to make it spectacular, and an annual deal.

Hope you gentlemen and ladies will consider participating. We think we're going to put on one of the classiest events in Kansas at a perfect time of the season.

Snail-mail is so totally ridonkulous... I know, but dear ol' "Dad" insists on postmarks rather than a time stamp accurate to the min:sec.

Mark (SWT CHI), KCME representative to the LGGPR committee, has recently been removed from our committee due to the attitude demonstrated by his comments in this forum. His comments published on this forum left no doubt that he is no longer capable of being a positive contributing member to our committee. The status of the KCME Club will be determined at the next regular meeting. At this moment, the KCME Club has lost its nine slot guaranteed status. This status will however be reinstated if your club is willing to step up and join this committee, participate in meetings and contribute in a positive manner. Our committee is well aware that one person's opinions may not represent the whole group. We are certainly hopeful that this is the case and that a new member from your group will show up at our meeting. If however, no member steps up and you lose the reserved slots you still will be welcome to apply for the general slots along with everyone else. We can be contacted at the following email address: cb@lggpr.org.

The LGGPR executive committee.
