I'm resurrecting the "assessed value sucks" thread...
I just got the little yellow notice in the mail from the Clay County Assessor...the one with "CHANGE OF VALUE NOTICE" in bold letters on the envelope. At least it's not real estate this time, but they are saying my MINI has increased in value since last year. That makes two cars we own that have appreciated over the last two years. The first was our xB.

Shhhhhh!!!! I don't think they've noticed YET and it's probably not too late for them to raise the taxes even more.Minidave wrote:Really? Tell them to write you a check for it then, and it's theirs!
They must have seen all the bling you added, like that sparkly wheel arch trim!

OK, here's something that's way funnier than tax assessments.

Scary weather this morning. It just got over here a couple minutes ago so I don't know if anything happened to the Mini yet (she's outside in the driveway). I hope nothing has happened to anyone else's houses. I'm watching the news now and there's some crazy damage out there.

Check out #9.
Though I would have to believe that most of it applies to most of the cities in the metro.

Why do people leave their dogs in the car to go grocery shopping when it's 90 degrees out?!? The OBC in the MINI said it was 93 this afternoon when I was at Whole Foods. I parked near a BMW X5 with a beautiful Irish Setter (lots o'hair) panting and struggling to breathe thru the 1" opening in the windows. Every time the dog would move, the alarm would go off on the car. Poor puppy.
