I rode with a couple drivers last year and nobody said anything. They aren't very consistent with enforcing their own rules as least not last year.

It's a good time. :D Wish I could join you guys.

I am in for the 11th. This will be a good way to use up the last of my old rubber before mounting up the new Dunlop Z1 Star Specs.

I would be interested in meeting for lunch, if anyone cares to do so.

It looks like you guys will be running the 2.1 instead of the boring NASCAR config. Should be fun.

While the short circuit might not be as exciting as the longer circuit, I wouldn't exactly call it boring. :) We are driving MINIs around a track, after all.

Has it been decided that lunch is at Ted's Montana for sure? I was hoping for something lighter and less expensive. :?

Truthfully, I rarely ever go out to The Legends, so I have no idea what is out there. I just don't want my lunch to sit so heavy in my tummy like last time. What about Cheeseburger in Paradise? Any body else have a suggestion?

I don't particularly like CBinP, but I can get a burger anywhere so if that's our choice, no problema. I like enough of a meal to carry me till the last session, which is usually about 8 pm, then we have the 1 hr drive home - so I like to load up enough to last me the day.

We also ate at Granite City once, and we did Arthur Bryant's once. There's also the usual Applebees and such up there........the Yard house and Dave and Buster's are there, as well as a Sonic which I'd also be fine with............there's a McDonalds on the north side, but I'd prefer to avoid it...........

Well, if you are talking burgers, have you had the Butter Burger at Culver's? Now that is a good burger! :D I would love to eat there if everyone agrees. How many of us are there going to be for lunch anyway? I only counted 5 of us signed up for track time.

I am new to KC. Just moved from Houston, Tx. Can anyone give me details on Heartland Park Track event (e.g time) and also details on registration, fees, any necessary equipment to bring etc?

Thanks

I have no idea which side of what it is at. It is by the Holiday Inn Express off of Parallel. Across from Wendy's. 1925 Prairie Crossing, KC, KS is the address. We took the Parallel exit and had to make a U-turn at the light to get to it.

Aris, welcome!

Click this link to sign in and register. There is a once a year $20 fee to join, and this event will cost $60 - you may still be able to get in for the 11th if you sign up today.

Touring Laps

The only thing you need is a helmet, and it must have the current Snell rating...... a long sleeve shirt is recommended, but if it's really hot out they don't care if you wear short sleeves. No shorts tho, and closed toe shoes - no sandals............

2 places where you can buy a helmet for a reasonable amount if you don't have one now are www.soloracer.com and www.motodirect.com, but you'd have to get it overnighted to make the event on Wed.

We'd love to have you join us at the track and for lunch before if you can make it. I'd recommend that unless you have previous track experience you sign on for this session as a novice. If you meet us for lunch you can caravan up to the track with us. If you just want to meet us there, it's very easy to get there from KC

Take 70 Hiway west to Topeka, just east of Topeka the road splits, take the south fork (towards Wichita) and exit at 75 hiway. Take the old 75 hiway due south about 5 miles to the racetrack entrance on the left, follow the entrance road around the curve to the back of the track, you'll see a building there and a gate, there is no charge for spectators. Drive on in and you'll find us all parked together in the paddock, just pull right in with the group. If you are going to run you'll need to check in at the building there and pick up your packet and sign in.

We meet for lunch at 1:00 pm. It's about a 1 hr drive to the track from there. Gates open at 3 pm, tech check in immediately after. Driver's meeting at 4:15 and the first cars hit the track at 4:30. The event runs till "dusk" which this time of year could be as late as 8:30. Last year we could have gotten in 5 runs on our June date - i stopped at 4 myself! 8)

You can also call me if you need more info, PM me for my number.

Hope everyone sees this.........

Lunch at Culvers, 1:00 PM!
