A Chocolate Salute to you Johnna!!!!

Post by BLUGOOSE »

:bangbang: What a great job you did Johnna! That was superb, I didn't come down off the ceiling untll about 4:00 this afternoon :wtf: I haven't felt like that since a "somores" party on the beach on Long Island NY some 30yrs ago. Although the beer I was drinking back then might have had something to do with the " on the ceiling" thing, the the sugar consumed today sure helped me get up there. I was like "spit on a griddle" :!:
If we do one of these again I'll probably just pass

We had a sugar high that hasn't stopped yet. The donuts at Krispy Kreme started it and stopped about 10:30 last night. it was wonderful. Thank you John & Johnna for putting this together and I would do it all again and thanks to all that maintained Charlotte's attention while I sampled everything---

Here's the scoop on where we went and a few other little tidbits in case you missed the fun and want to have your own chocolate crawl:

We started at Krispy Kreme. I think they gave free, warm glazed donuts to most of us?

In between stops, we had brownies from Olivia's Oven. www.oliviasoven.com

The first stop was Laura Little's Candy Kitchen. Minidave said it was a gas station in the 50's! www.lauralittlecandy.com

In between we had Russell Stover Easter treats and some had RS sugar free treats.

The second stop was the Sweet Guy at 74th and Wornall, along with cookies from McLain's Bakery across the street. www.mclainsbakery.com

In between we had Cherry Mash, made in St. Joseph. www.cherrymash.com

Then we stopped at Chips Chocolate Factory in Crown Center. That was great fun! When I'm no longer on sweet probation, I want chocolate covered cotton candy!!!

A few of us then walked to Christopher Elbow. www.elbowchocolates.com

Big thanks to everyone that shared ideas for this month's gathering. It sure was a good time! I hope to have pics uploaded later tonight...anyone else got pics?

Definitely a fun morning. Since I'm not a big chocolate fan, I hope it's not too blasphemous to say that my sugar highlight was the surprise at Krispy Kreme where they gave me the free glazed donut along with my maple (over glaze) that I ordered. I had never eaten a warm, fresh one. Wow... dangerously good.

Fun event and great to see a nice turn out. Thanks, Johnna! :D

Apparently the chocolate limited my ability to type/proofread my post!

It was a blast! Thanks Johnna for all your hard work as usual, and to Laurie, too, and thanks for all the yummy treats to tide us over between stops. :D
