Underdrive Pulley

I just bought an Alta Performance 15% pulley. It's the kit that comes with the tensioner and the belt. They had it on the Alta site for $177 plus shipping. I bought it on ebay unopened for $175 shipped.

What you bought is a tensioner stop as part of the package. I thought about buying one of these. The reviews on this stop indicate that it rattles and makes noise. You might reconsider. There are better stops being produced using heavy gage wire. After installing the pulley and belt, you will need new, one step cooler spark plugs. The belt, hopefully,is also a bit smaller. Our club recommends the kit sold by Way Motor Works which is on sale for $199 and includes the correct spark plugs, belt, tensioner stop and pulley. Have to agree with Davester, having installed several of these now, the Way kit is the better................erm.................way.

Um it's a bit late now. I went with what a friend told me was good. I believe he has it on his car. If it turns out back, well then lesson learned. I don't think that will be the case though.

I don't think the pulley itself will be the problem i'm sure very small number of those fail or cause problems but the Alta tensioner stop looks like it will make more noise than this one, not that the alta is a bad product just seems to be people's preference to go with WAY due to noise/rattle.
You won't hear the rattle over the now louder supercharger whine!

The pulley is the V2 version and I bought a Detroit Tuned Tensioner Stop since the Alta one is crap. Also ordered Brisk Spark Plugs to go along with it.

My two-piece Alta Performance V2 15% Pulley arrived today. Love it. Plus if I want to go to an Alta 16 or 17% later, it's an easy upgrade.
