Rally Shifter

Post by Zack »

A friend of mine is trying to build a rally style shifter. Any thoughts? Here are some examples I found

It looks like if you built a platform for it and bolted it to the transmission tunnel (I know it doesn't have one) You could extend the linkages and elevate the shifter assembly higher, then add a short shift kit and you could essentially have the raised rally shifter. This sound right? I was tempted to buy a used shifter with cables to study and see how it works.

You'd have to spend several thousands of dollars in machining equipment to get the fit and finish of the CAE. It's not a bucket of bolts welded together, trust me.

Cool. Need to bring that to some of the cruise-in's. Would love to see it in person.
