N12 Idle

Post by Clubby Clutch »

Recently, I have noticed that while at idle I get a chattering in the engine. The tach reads around 500 RPMs usually. Pressing the clutch and releasing it does nothing to the sound so probably not the throw out bearing. When I give the car some gas the RPMs sometimes dip and then rise. Any bit of gas gets rid of the chatter but once the RPMs drop to around 500 the sound comes back.

Thoughts?

Sounds like the idle is too low, it's not something you can adjust tho.....

So that would mean the ECU is just adjusting too low?

Worth changing plugs at all?

I'm only at 44,000 miles, though. 93 Octane fuel too.

I think you need to scan it for codes first, and see if there's anything going on, then go from there....or take it to Baron and let them check it for codes.
