I'm resurrecting the "assessed value sucks" thread...

I just got the little yellow notice in the mail from the Clay County Assessor...the one with "CHANGE OF VALUE NOTICE" in bold letters on the envelope. At least it's not real estate this time, but they are saying my MINI has increased in value since last year. That makes two cars we own that have appreciated over the last two years. The first was our xB. :?

Really? Tell them to write you a check for it then, and it's theirs!

They must have seen all the bling you added, like that sparkly wheel arch trim!

Shhhhhh!!!! I don't think they've noticed YET and it's probably not too late for them to raise the taxes even more.

OK, here's something that's way funnier than tax assessments.

Scary weather this morning. It just got over here a couple minutes ago so I don't know if anything happened to the Mini yet (she's outside in the driveway). I hope nothing has happened to anyone else's houses. I'm watching the news now and there's some crazy damage out there.

Just got back from Dallas. I reset the computer before I left. 1300 miles of which 200 were stop-n-go dallas city traffic in 100 degree weather with the air on. The 1100 highway miles were all between 70 and 75 (because I just don't need another ticket). Final fuel mileage was 30.9 using 89 octane.

Check out #9.

Though I would have to believe that most of it applies to most of the cities in the metro.

Why do people leave their dogs in the car to go grocery shopping when it's 90 degrees out?!? The OBC in the MINI said it was 93 this afternoon when I was at Whole Foods. I parked near a BMW X5 with a beautiful Irish Setter (lots o'hair) panting and struggling to breathe thru the 1" opening in the windows. Every time the dog would move, the alarm would go off on the car. Poor puppy. :(
