Hey this sounds great! Are there any takers? Do we know if there is a fee? Also, if a group can be put together does anyone know of a good scenic route to get to Lawrence? A drive up in the moring after some coffee and breakfast sounds good to me.

Sounds like a fun drive. How far of a drive is it from KC to Lawrence? If my Mini is up for the drive we might go.

From Shawnee I think it is maybe 20 to 25 miles, at most? It looks like 32 Highway runs along the northside of the Kansas River all the way from Shawnee to Lawrence. I have not been on that road in years so I don't remember it too much.

If anyone knows more or can contribute please chime in and offer suggestions, I would like to get a group together and make a run up there.

I think a good starting point might be the IHOP in Shawnee off Shawnee Mission parkway in front of the Target Store past Lackman Road.

Let me know????

No, take K-10, it's a straight shot into Larryville, 4 lanes divided all the way.

Pick it up just west of the I-35/ 435 interchange and cruise on, especially from Belton - 71 to 435 to K-10. Total is about 40 miles from KC to Larryworld

Sounds like a fun drive. I kinda want to get my water leak fixed before a big highway drive though.

K-32 is a good road too, you could go that way as well.

K-10 is the best road for most. Wide, smooth, free, and 70 mph speed limit

US 40 gets you there, I haven't been on it in years, so I don't know how scenic the drive or the quality of the roads.

I-70 is a straight shot for the folks in the Northlands, toll road of course, but you can go fast-fast.

If you want a FUN drive, you can always do the K-5 route to Leavenworth, then US 40 or K-10 the rest of the way to get your breath back.

I got my water leak fixed today (bypass hose clamps came loose) but she's still getting a little warm. Should be fixed soon though.

How warm? Minis run on the warm side. Most don't run very well until they get all nice and toasty. I like mine to run HOT!!!

Mine ran hot today (over hot actually) and she got angry. But after we fixed the leak she gets to about normal pretty quick but I haven't got a chance to drive her far since we fixed it to see how hot she really gets.

She should be. I drove her today about 45 miles and she didn't get over the normal operating temperature.

I was thinking of leaving my house in PV around 8:45am depending on what was going on. I figure to get there about 9:45ish, but I can meet up with anyone earlier or later if there is a contingent going up. I just want to get a group, if possible, to go up from the club.

I might join you, only I tend not to arrive too early so they have time to get the cars set up and posed........

9 to 9:30-ish would be good, we could meet at the Wendy's on Woodland, just north off K-10, and caravan up from there if you like. It's just about a 35 or 40 min drive from there.........
