It seems that the upgrade of the forum software has gone fairly well. Smilies are temporarily back to the default set, and I will be re-uploading those presently.
However, user Avatars are a bit worse for the wear - if you had an avatar that you had previously uploaded to the KCME forums and it is not displaying properly please do the following steps to recover your avatar.
Click on User Control Panel in the light blue section in the upper left portion of your screen.
Click on the Profile tab
Click Edit Avatar on the left hand side of the window
Click the Display Gallery button on the bottom of the window
Locate your old Avatar and click on it
Scroll down and click on the Submit button at the bottom of your window
Click Return to the User Control Panel or wait for the screen to refresh.
Your Avatar should be back where it belongs!
As always, please feel free to email me or private message me if you encounter anything extra-squirrely or out of the ordinary.
Nice to have all my forums running the same software now, now I can link photos and so on without having to relearn the steps all over again!
And it looks like we can now upload attachemnts! Yay!
However, one small glitch seems to remain, I have to login every time I open the forum, and if I navigate away from the Board index (like to change something in my profile). Also, there seems to be an approximately 30 sec delay between when you click submit and the post actually gets transmitted. Anyone else experiencing this?

I too noticed the lengthy delay between pushing the button and anything else happening.. I have no idea why this would be happening. I'll look into the session expiration too.
The answer: Don't use the spam blackhole lookup list feature of the board as it apparently doesn't cache the data and looks it up each time, causing a nice 30 second delay. Gross.

This issue should now be resolved.
For those curious, the problem was in the cookie settings. Being a paranoid person, I made two online and three offline copies of the database and did a rehearsal of the upgrade process before actually running the "real" upgrade process. I also did them on a different top level domain, just to make sure I wouldn't space out and pooch anything. Of course, I forgot to update the domain path for browser cookies (forced diet, maybe?) which is why every time you navigated away from the board you had to log back in, since the cookie was set to a different domain name. It worked for me, but you may need to log out and log back in and/or restart your browser in order to see changes.
