JoCo Holiday Lights Drive, Saturday Dec. 19th

Post by ragtopday Johnna »

For those looking for a weekend option (or those wanting both a weekend and weeknight gathering), we'll have a Holiday Lights drive in Johnson County on Saturday, December 19th.

This drive will visit sixteen addresses known for their holiday lights. A detailed map and route will be provided to each driver, as it may be difficult to stay together throughout the entire route. This drive will have a gimmick rally element. A few questions and puzzles about things you will see along the way will be included with your map. And thanks to club sponsors, we've got prizes for those with the most questions answered correctly!

We will meet at 6 P.M. at Baron on Saturday, December 19th. The drive should take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on how heavy traffic is around the light displays and how long you would like to view each exhibit. We'll end at a coffee house, location will be listed on your map.

RSVP and include number of people in your MINI/Mini please.
Johnna--BMPR CR '05 Chili Red JustaCVT, JCW Sound Kit #D344, JCW BBK, aFe cai, M7 Under Strut System, strut tower plates, Sparkly wheel arches, a little chrome. Garage-sharing w/ '12 Goodwood MCS #372, '06 MCS "Jack" and MiniX4's classic, Moxie.

How about a distant KC member from Nebraska attending. I happen to have to burn some vacation days before the end of the year.
Been talking to my friend Hydie and she may want to attend as well.
See you on the 19th

Yay! It will be great to see you! Will you have the Dragon Wagon in tow? Perhaps a quick conversion to Hot Chocolate Dispensary could be made?

I did a test run of Saturday's route this evening and it took about two hours, including stops. Here's a look at one of the locations on the route:

If all goes well with our family Christmas party earlier in the day, we will be there. I may even break the GP out of the garage if it's warm-ish because it needs to be driven soon.

See you all there.

If you have two-way radios, please bring them to Saturday's drive.

Your own GPS system may prove useful, too. The route includes the address of each location, so if you get separated from the pack, you can easily find your way to another point along the route. It is unlikely we will all stay together in traffic but re-grouping may happen from point to point along the way.

The drive will take two+ hours-ish. Our end point is Dunn Bros. Coffee at 8975 Metcalf in Overland Park. We should be there around 8:30 if you would like to meet us there and skip the drive.

Looking forward to seeing everyone and their MINIs all dressed up for the holidays tomorrow!
