We are set!

Please join us for the first ever anywhere (who can prove us wrong?) MINIs and Miatas cruise-in. We plan to cruise in to the Winstead's Steakburger at 103rd & Metcalf in Overland Park, KS, located at the southeast corner of the 103rd & Metcalf intersection.

The event is scheduled for Saturday July 16 starting at 5pm.

We've checked out the site and coordinated with the Winstead's management, they are happy to have us. There is plenty of parking immediately to the north and west of the Winstead's and in front of the bank to the north. We'll have room for at least 50 cars in a nice shady location.

This is a joint effort of the KC MINI Enthusiasts and the Mid America Miata club.

Bring your MINI, bring your Miata, bring both if you've got 'em!

HISTORY:
A couple different ideas are converging into one event...

Dennis Echols, president of Mid America Miata club (of which I'm a member) and I have been talking for months on coming up with an M&M event -- MINIs and Miatas. The recent request by Culvers at 135th & Antioch in OPKS has created a great opportunity for us to make this happen.

Details are still coming together, but Dennis and I think we have the basics figured out...so pencil it on your calendar:

UPDATE: 06/01/11
The location for this event is being re-evaluated. Culvers has made another commitment for July 16. Dennis and I have been discussing this quite a bit and have decided that July 16 still works for both clubs even if the location doesn't.

We are exploring other locations as we speak and are confident we will find a location just as fun and welcoming.

So keep it on your calendar and we'll get more info here in the next few weeks.

i'm able to make a good deal for everyone' that include buffet and free attraction "go-karts, bowling, laser tag, etc."

every person would have to pay individuals amounts at the front desk, but you will be able to get more for your money, just for mentioning your with the car club meeting.

We already have our primary agenda set, and are finalizing some details. Sorry to say they don't involve Powerplay this time.

However, given the initial interest, I encourage members of the group to take on the planning of a possible future event at Powerplay!!!

Howdy everyone!

I know that the weather is going to be hot this weekend, so I went this afternoon (nice toasty day) to get an idea of what the conditions will be like on Saturday in the 5-6pm timeframe.

The site where we will be parking and hanging out has several decent-sized trees with good shade at 5pm and after. There was a nice breeze there and it was surprisingly pleasant.

The forecast for Saturday afternoon is hot, and with a southerly breeze. So, yeah, it will be warm, but we'll have shade and a breeze. And Winsteads!
