2012 Art of the Car Concourse = June 24

The Sixth Annual Art of the Car Concours® will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 24, on the KCAI campus. The event will feature about 200 vintage, classic and special-interest vehicles, including cars, trucks, racing cars and motorcycles belonging to collectors from eight states.
This event, a benefit for the KCAI scholarship fund, is growing in popularity and stature among vintage and classic collectors. The Concours is unique for its size and scale in having no formal judging and no classes of vehicles. The intention is to provide a wide range of very high-quality, original, vintage vehicles in an eclectic, informal setting, without the pressure of traditional Concours events.
How about a club 'coffee and cars' that morning then head over to the show?

This is a fantastic show, with some amazing cars and a cause I defiitely don't mind supporting - the school for the arts.
My only pause is that in the past it's been bloody hot and humid there, and I don't do the heat well. I'll be happy to show up for the kaffee klatch tho!
Pick a spot to meet up....Winsteads maybe?

This is one of my favorite events of the year. I can spend literally all day there scoping out the cars.
I encourage everyone to attend, especially if you've never been. Yes, it can be hot and humid but I wear light clothing and they do allow you to carry beverages in BUT no alcohol is allowed.

OK, where are we meeting?
If we get there earlier enough I'd prefer one of the parking lots attached to the event, they are free and we should find a spot there - less walking and no waiting for shuttle busses.

The Classic Cup Cafe at 301 W. 47th
There are also a few places in and around the plaza, on main just south of the Plaza for example....

Greg, sent you a PM on a potential meeting location. The place is called Chubby's, it's open 24 hours and located on Broadway near the plaza.

BTW, most of the buildings are open for folks to go into and cool off and use the rest rooms.

Following the Art of the Car feel free to join the Heart of America Z Car Club at Fred P. Ott's on the Plaza-4770 J.C. Nichols Parkway. There is covered parking on the west side of the building Ott's is located in and there is a door from parking into Ott's.
The place is small so we'll be easy to find.

As much as I enjoy this show and would also enjoy hanging out with the MINI crowd, I may have to give this one a pass - it's supposed to be 99* on sunday, and I have real trouble with heat like that.
