Which intake would you recommend for me? I'm looking at the Alta Performance intake. Also looked into the Cravenspeed, M7, DDMworks, etc. Which would you recommend?? Please hurry as there is a 12% discount at Alta right now.

I like my Alta (although I've got an R56) Doesn't do much though except making noises.

No increase in horsepower with the Alta? I was told it would. I have the Alta pulley that will be intsalled this summer with a Detroit Tuned tensioner stop. I actually think I'll buy the Alta just because I've heard a lot of good things about it.

I think the R53 intake is different than the R56. Some people on NAM have said the R56 intake takes away power but I haven't noticed anything different.

I think the alta is the loudest of any intake with good quality. On NAM the DDM seems to be the highest praised overall. I would get the DDM personally but I don't have one so thats just from my research.

I had the DDM on my R56 and loved it. It has a great sound, you really hear the BOV on the turbos. It was also very easy to install. I didn't have to remove the whole air box just the top and the intake tube. It is also one of the least expensive options for a CAI (the street version).

Well after weighing the pros and cons and looking at what was good and not, I bought the Alta Performance intake along with the cover for the air box. It came to about $300 total but was well worth it. Can't wait to install it. I am gonna install the pulley this summer with Tom's help assuming he will have some spare time. That will be exciting.
