I might be down. Easy stuff I think would be my rear sway bar with new end links and the Helix short shift kit. I have a bunch of bushings but those would take a while.

Re: Garage Day Anyone?
I need a brake fluid swap and an oil change. The brake fluid is the main thing and I can change the oil before but I'll just need to reset the computer along with the brake fluid reset. I can do the coolant and filters myself.

Still OK by me, lets make a new list of who needs what done and who's coming.
And even more importantly, who's bringing the Krispy Kremes!
Edit: Oops, I didn't see that Davester's NIL is bringing the doonots.

Re: Garage Day Anyone?
Again? How many miles have you done since we just did it the last garage day?
7,500 is OK for the MINI oil we used - don't forget you owe me a quart too.
So does someone else, but I've forgotten who.....
If it's time we can certainly do it.
Maybe we should start a bit earlier, in view of the heat?
8am instead of 9am?

Re: Garage Day Anyone?
I am going to try to attend the garage day Saturday. 8 am sound good to me. I also need to replace engine coolent. I have a gallon of MINI coolent ready to use. Ready to assist in brake pad replacement or anything else that needs to be done.
2003 Dark Silver Metallic MINI Cooper S.
Re: Garage Day Anyone?
I agree with Minidave about starting earlier although it is HIS garage so its up to him.
I need:
Brake Fluid (can we do the clutch line as well?)
Oil Change
I'll be bringing an air filter and cabin air filter to swap out while everything is getting done.
Minidave, do you have an air compressor? I need to use my high speed cut off tool on my M3 strut housings to modify them for the KONI inserts. Any chance I could do this on the side? It would be a huge help.
I can bring some surgical towels that can be thrown away without any guilt.
Boxer, I would love to assist in the coolant change to learn so I can do it on my car.

Re: Garage Day Anyone?
Yes, I have air, no worries there.....Clubby, do you have your oil and filter? If so bring them, if not pick them up before Sat. I recommend using factory oil filter and MINI oil - the filter kit especialy because it will have the o-ring and drain plug gasket.
We could do the clutch, but I hesitate to do so because of so many people who have had trouble immediately after they did with it not releasing properly and so on. But I'm game if you are. We'll have to make up a tool to get it compressed properly to bleed all the air out.
Boxer, changing your coolant is no biggy.....rear brakes on an R56 and a possible oil change on another. Should be able to get that all done easily by noon, then we can all head to a nice cool place to have lunch and get our temps back to normal again.

Re: Garage Day Anyone?
Yep I got the filter and oil from Baron as it is cheaper with the discount and there is no shipping.
I have the brake fluid too.
Do you usually replace the fluid in the clutch master cylinder? Since it runs off of the brake fluid wouldn't the new fluid mix within the clutch line to create equilibrium? No worries about the clutch then.

I'm at 4900 miles till my next oil change (it's been reset to the 10,000 mile intervals). I'll get you that quart of oil on the 21st. I might just wait and do the MINI service intervals since they aren't as bad and they're free for me till 100,000 miles.

I'll leave it up to you, but more oil changes are always better for your car than less......your call.

I'll try to get up to Baron and buy a oil filter. I've got to help another club member put some graphics on on Saturday too.

Re: Garage Day Anyone?
For coolent replacement, I would assume that distilled water would be better/smarter that tap water for the 50/50 mix? Please advise. Thanks
2003 Dark Silver Metallic MINI Cooper S.
Re: Garage Day Anyone?
Yes, distilled water is much more preferred.
Walmart sells it at 88 cents a gallon.

I just mix it with tap water, myself......

Well bummer. Sorry I missed it. I was actually at Baron's this morning! I have that quart of oil I owe you, Dave. I think I'm probably due for a brake fluid replacement at 64,000 miles.
