Door speaker

Post by Counterfit_Mini »

So...I kinda listened to my music too loud and blew one of my door speakers. I was wondering if anyone had ever messed with the speakers on an R56 before and how hard it would be to replace. Baron says a new speaker is $50 and then they would charge $100 to put it in....

You can do this job, it's really just some screws and clips holding the door panel on and a few more holding the speaker in.

Oh ok. I wasn't sure if it was very hard to take the door panel off.

If it's anything like the R53's then it's not bad at all . I replaced every speaker in mine, you might end up breaking a few clips in the process but I think they're really cheap.

Is there a MINI repair that doesn't involve breaking a few clips? LOL

It does, thank you. Looks a little more tedious that I thought but doable. Although, it wouldn't be MINI if it was easy...

Yeah, when you replace a oil line to the turbo that only takes 10 minutes to put on but 3 hours to get to you tend to understand this...
