Post by CowboyCoop »

I called Baron auto today to see if they had any passes to next week auto show, to my surprise, they said no! I wonder why? budget cuts? what gives? Guess buying two mini's in a year does not get me anywhere :|

Well this can tide you over until later this week. :) I was in Toronto last week for work and they happened to have their Auto Show so I couldn't pass it up. Puts our show to shame....

I don't think they've ever had any free passes to the show, but there's always money off coupons in the paper....

We're going Friday afternoon.....

Well I just could not let it go to rest, and called Baron again, as to getting passes for the not so impressive Kansas City Auto Show. I was told that the Beemers the BMW side received all the passes this year. Yes I was able to score passes last year from our wonderful Sales person, who no longer works there  she was great, and able to hook us up with a wind screen for the convertible, So I guess us Mini buyers have been trumped by the beemers. what a bummer. But I did find few coupons for a few dollars off. :|

All the wealthy Johnson County snobs buy the Bimmers apparently so naturally they get dibs on those passes. Lol

Went to the show tonight and talked to Samer.

He said that passes were dropped off at the BMW store, but the person who received them didn't know what they were, or their value, and placed them on the counter. They quickly disappeared.

None of the passes ever made it to the MINI store, and nobody knew that they had even been dropped off to go look for them. He was very sorry that it turned out this way.

By the way, if you go to the show, be sure to talk to Dee from MINI USA at the MINI booth. Very high-energy young lady who LOVES working for MINI. Tell her you are from the club.

Did BMW even have an exhibit this year? Cause they haven't the last few years, so why do they get the passes? If they're not even there......

If I can't see BMW or other high end cars at this show then I'm glad I didn't waste money to go. Seems like the dealerships just show up and display each year. I want an auto show like New York or Detroit.

BMW was not there. However, Mercedes, Porsche, Maserati, Lexus are there. And a Fisker.

I am glad I went, but it sure aint no Detroit or Chicago. They want a lot of money for what you get to see. There were a few concepts there, and a lot of corporate/professional presenters.

But no C7 Corvette.

It was cool in that you can crawl around the Porsches, Mercedes, Jaguars, and Range Rovers.

Wow. Last time I went, they wouldn't let you touch the Porsches. Couldn't even get inside them. Would have loved to see the C7 in person. Money is tight as it is so better to use it for other things. Would have still loved to go.
