Dear MINI Cooper Owners,

One week from today on Saturday, May 4th, the Richmond Mushroom Festival MINI Cooper Rally will be held in downtown Richmond, Missouri. The Mushroom Festival is recognized as one of Missouri's best festivals in Rural Missouri magazine. There will be more than 125 craft and food booths, a carnival, and so much more.

We have 24 MINI's that will be driving in from many different locations to the Mushroom Festival Car Rally. The weather looks favorable for a great day of fun! The different MINI models include the Roadster, Countryman, Clubman, Coupe, Convertible, Hardtop, and JCW. I would like to encourage everyone to show up prior to 10:30 am as we will be part of the festival and I am certain people will want to see all of the different MINI's. A rough itinerary is list below:
TIMETABLE:
8:30 AM-9:00 AM: ARRIVE IN RICHMOND, MO
9:00 AM-12:00 PM: SOCIALIZE- MUSHROOM FESTIVAL ACTIVITIES
12:00 PM (NOON) : ORGANIZE FOR MUSHROOM FESTIVAL PARADE
12:15 PM: DRIVE TO PARADE LINE-UP
1:00 PM: MUSHROOM FESTIVAL PARADE
2:00 PM: RETURN TO RALLY SITE
2:30 PM: OPTIONAL SOCIAL GATHERING AT HOMETOWN PIZZA

(PARK YOUR MINI AT THE RALLY SITE AND COME TO THE OPTIONAL SOCIAL GATHERING, STAY AS LONG AS YOU LIKE OR DEPART AFTER THE PARADE)

There is a great group of MINI's attending and should anyone else want to join in they would more than welcome to come. Below is a map that will be helpful to get to the location as downtown Richmond will be closed off. Please review that map as it will be the easy way to get to the location at Farris Theatre.

Greetings KCME....my wife and I are coming down for the festival. We'd like to know what time you're meeting at Independence Center and if you'd mind another MINI or two cruising up to Richmond with ya'll?

Are there any plans if it rains? The last I heard there is a 40% chance of rain on Saturday.

Yes, it does seem as though there is a chance of rain. However we are optimistic that the weather will be favorable.
I am certain that the Mushroom Festival has some contingency plans so that I feel it would be in our best interest to keep an eye on the weather as Saturday approaches. We plan on being there unless there is some threatening weather, each person will need to determine their own plans based on Saturday's forecast.
Let's keep our finger's crossed and hope for favorable weather!

Weather forecast shows snow on Friday and Saturday in KC and in Richmond. This stinks. I hope it doesn't happen. I'm looking forward to driving to Richmond for this thing and the damn weather keeps having hot and cold flashes.

Thank God the forecast changed to rain Saturday. That's a bit more bearable than snow.

Yeah, we're supposed to get between 5 and 13" of it tonight instead!

It's OK, tho, 60's again by Sat....

The weather got bad in Nebraska here yesterday afternoon as the wife was coming home in our MINI. Icy conditions put our MINI in the ditch, right rear quarter dented, right rear rim toast...Wife fine, very low speed, nothing major wrong with the MINI, estimate is in, repairs started later today.

So we'll miss this year's trip to Richmond, but we'll be around for next year!

We hope the weather cooperates for those attending!

Dear MINI Cooper Owners,

I have received notification from the Mushroom Festival coordinators and they are very concerned about the weather. They have indicated to me that they plan to go on with the scheduled events unless threatening weather moves in. The weather model and forecast that we have been looking at shows 50/50 chance of rain on Saturday with the high temperature reaching the low 50's. Today and tomorrow's weather forecast shows a strong chance of precipitation with temperatures in the 40's. My plans are to be in Richmond, MO for the Mushroom Festival and should anyone want to take a chance and come I would welcome their participation. I fully understand that there are many factors that each person must consider and by no means is anyone obligated to attend. Travel distance, weather tolerance, and optimistic forecast would be necessary for you to consider before setting your sail to Richmond, Missouri. I plan to e-mail everyone on Friday evening with a weather update.

I plan to be there. I hope everyone that was planning to go is still going to go.

We didn't get all 26 Mini's we were hoping for but 10 isn't a bad turn-out either. Great job organizing this Hilary. Kyle and I really enjoyed it. Count us in for next year. Although next time I will put number 37 on my car instead of 53. I was getting tired of being called Herbie, lol.

I would like to thank all those who came to Richmond, MO for the MINI Cooper Rally.
11 MINI's attended the event and the weather was improved from the previous two days, the weather was still a little rough and it did eventually make it into the 50's in the afternoon. There was a big crowd for the parade and the Coopers stole the show! I will keep you posted as more events are forthcoming.

Had soooo much fun, looking forward to next year. Hillary, you did a great job.

There were a bunch of video cameras and news cameras. Been looking around for video of the parade. Found none so far.
