I am going to try to attend the Saturday festivities. I can bring doo-nuts if no one else does. I have may things with boxer to attend to. Maybe next garage day, this one seems pretty full up. Be happy to assist in any job. :ds:

I think I want to reinstall the OEM springs and use the FSD's. The lowered MINI is just to harsh. Or use the lowering springs and purchase a set of Koni adjustable yellows. Also have noticed a bit of oil on my garage floor. I haven't had time to investigate where it's coming from. Last December Boxer turned 10 years old but just about 50k miles. SC oil may need to be changed and also the transmission fluid. I have been wanting to pull the front subframe and replace the ball joints and upper shock bearing plates. I wonder if your students would like to service a MINI. I could give it up for a week.

I had oil on my garage floor before. I initially thought it was an oil leak or something. Turned out to be the power steering hoses had leaks in them.

Boxer, I doubt we can all that done in one fell swoop, but come with what ever parts you want to use and we'll plan it out, OK?

If we drop the subframe that's the time to do all the ball joints, spring plates and so on.....

Oil leak is probably the crank sensor, if you haven't done one yet.

Supercharger oil is probably fine, tranny fluid is easy.....just pick up the new fluid you want to use.

Shock bearing plates should be done while we have the springs out.

I'll help with whatever although my skills are limited. Would love to watch some of the festivities. If I could rotate tires that would be great. The fronts seem to be wearing a little. Maybe I need to lighten up the right foot.

If you are coming, be sure to post in this thread so I can get a head count, OK?

And new members might want to read my thread on shop etiquette too, just for info.

Despite today's gloomy weather, Saturday looks promising so far, sunny and warm. Should be a good day for some MINI wrenchin!

I won't be doing my speaker this time (I got busy and didn't get a chance to order it) but I'll still be doing the oil change.

Minidave- Are we responsible for the dispose of the oil and coolant fluid or do you have some place to get rid of it?

I usually just have someone run it up to the closest autoparts store, it's free to dispose of it there and they will take it. I'll take the used filters up to school, they have a service that takes care of them.

Is it do-able? What parts should I request from Baron?
Mahalo
This happened to my passenger door last year as well. I ordered the part but when I opened up the door all I had to do was snap the old one back in place so I still have the new cable if you need it.

By my count we have 17 cars coming, and we can't work on all of them at once, so everyone will have to work together and co-operate....if we do we'll get everyone's car finished.

Gonna be a full house, hope the weather stays good, but so far it's looking OK.

Well, since my last post, things change. Work has interrrupted my weekend plans. I will be not able to attend the garage day. Maybe next time.

I'll be there at 9 with your shop towels but I can hold off on my oil change but I'll try to help out if possible. And I'll bring some doughnuts :)

Don't forget, need to check my upper strut bushings on the drivings side for cracks. I'm almost positive they are cracked. Luckily if that is the case, Baron is down the road, though I doubt anyone wants to tackle that kind of project.

No problems on the drive home then?

We had a fun shop day, the weather co-operated nicely, and although it was chilly at the start, the nice warm sunshine made it all OK.

We got a lot of work done on a bunch of cars, and thanks to Bill from Baron who dropped by to lend his expertise as well!

We only had one "failure", one o-ring on an oil filter that tore and leaked, but we caught it and changed it out and all was good.

Thanks to everyone who came and helped, it was a fun day!
