Hey all, just wanted to pop in and say hi.

I picked up a 2003 Pure Silver R53 6MT at the end of September. Only 50K miles, extensive maintenance history, and it came with a few go-fast bits already installed (see signature).

I've already replaced the brake pads with some Akebono ceramics (hated the OEM pad dust and the front brakes were completely shot) and threw on some new rotors while I was at it. I've also replaced the transmission fluid with Red Line MTL as recommended by many on NAM.

Anyway, loving the car a bunch and looking forward to some meetups/cruises in the coming months.

I'd also like to hear what a properly running R53 sounds like to see if mine is making any strange noises, I'm new to these cars and while it sounds fine to me, it would be nice to have some assurance.

I had considered that, but didn't want to get in anyone's way who needed actual work done. I don't think I'm busy that weekend, might see if I can rope in my wife or a friend to come along as well.

Potentially, yes...plans haven't fully formed yet for that weekend, but hope to make it. Haven't done a garage day in a long time, and miss hanging out with the gang.
