I run Conti DWS on both my MINI and my Audi and have been very happy with them on both cars - I run the same size on my MINI as you do......

I have Goodyear Eagle GTs (in 205/45-17) and really like them. Not as aggressive as a winter tire, but I like how it performs in the dry and on wet roads, which is what I normally encounter the vast majority of the time in winter here.

I've been running the new Michilen Pilot Sport AS/3's for the last month. Haven't had any snow yet but am loving them on dry and wet.

I have the stock ContiProContact with about 6k on em. They were almost new when I bought the car in July. We shall see how they do in the snow. I am not that impressed with their dry/wet performance.

The Conti Pro Contact SSR is a H rated tire instead of a V or W high performance tire. As far as the gripping power of an all season, it should have pretty good traction.
