Downtown Excelsior Partnership is hosting its 8th Annual Excelsior Springs Missouri Wine Festival on June 21, 2014 (12:00 - 9:00). The Wine Festival is located in East Valley Park on Lover's Lane, Excelsior Springs, MO (0.4 miles east of the Elms Hotel & Spa on Highway 10). There will be many Missouri wineries offering samples (glasses, bottles and cases of wine are available for purchase), live music, artists/crafters, and food vendors. We have a grassy area on the north side of the river where we would like for your group to park whereby allowing those that take the Wine Walk to enjoy your very nice rides. We invite you to come for the entire day or a portion of the day. Tickets to the Wine Festival are $20 in advance and $25 at the door (includes a glass for tastings). General admission with no wine tastings will be $5. You can stay on the grassy area, and not partake in the actual festival, and that is FREE!!!! http://www.visitexcelsior.com. Sounds like a fun time. I don't drink but getting the Mini's together on a grassy area would be a nice change over the asphalt.

Carol did visit with several of us on Saturday and offered up this event to us. I told her to post it on the board and we would see what kind of interest & availability there might be for the event.

While the event runs all day, we would not be committed to staying the whole day and would likely want to come up with a set of core hours we would all target to be there.

So, please post any questions or clarifications, and let us know who would be interested and available to attend.

It appears that Judy and I could be available, and think it sounds like an interesting event!

It looks and sounds fun. Reminds me a bit of the wine fests in Germany. Good times!!

This is coming up in a big hurry...but I haven't seen a whole lot of club energy behind it.

Just checked the event posting on the Facebook page. Eight 'yes', four 'maybe' so far.

So, maybe 10 or so cars at this point?

OK -- since the other June events have been cancelled, this IS our club event for June!

This new event promises to be a great time for the KC MINI group to attend. What could be more fun than a drive and wine in Ex Springs. New people will see our unique cars and will love them. Lets get a large gaggle of MINIs and go. We are in---

Won't be able to make it to this event after all. Vehicle registration renewal this month and I have an art show at the end of the month that my work will be displayed at so I sunk a lot of money into that this month. Have fun everyone.

It doesn't cost anything to go park your car. You don't drink so I didn't even think you would be interested into going to the fest. I am probably going to pass because it is going to be Africa tomorrow.

I can't afford the gas to drive out there and back is what I am saying. That and the ridiculous heat. I rode my racing bicycle in the heat today and had to stop every ten minutes to drink water and cool off. Would love an overcast day.

Based on the predicted temps and since the event runs until 9PM, we will probably head up there around 5 or so. Leaving from Liberty so we get to take the fun and twisty H highway.
