The Main Street Association now offers online registration, so we are officially entered in the parade. Let me know if you are interested in attending and I will start the list.

Greg, will you please add a FB event ?

The details:
Parade Date: Friday, July 4th (rain or shine)

Theme: American Dreams- Red,White & Blue - :chili: :ps: :indi: feel free to decorate your MINIs/Minis

Parade line up starts at 9:00 am and the parade begins about 10:00 am-ish.
We meet up at 63rd Street just off of 9 highway and motor all the way down and through Downtown Parkville

Our club has been participating in this event since 2008 and the crowd love our cars. We always get lots of comments and the spectators are very friendly.
This is a family friendly, all ages event. If the weather is nice, the crowds will be large, so practice your parade wave now to avoid strained muscles

There are just a couple of parade safety rules that the police officers strictly enforce:
1) once the parade starts, you must stay in your car and spectators are not allowed to approach the cars
2) no candy throwing - you can have some one walk the route and pass out candy

Parade participants
1. Zack
2. Davester & his better half :-)
3 Frank

From FB
1. Cassy Click
2. Collin Ryser
3. Kevin Danjou
And 5 maybes :D

Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks
Marlow Main

I really want to attend. Depends on if my mini is out of the body shop by then. I have been without my car since June 11. Waiting on new roof and hood to come in.

Hopefully you get your MINI back soon and can make it.

I just got a call yesterday saying the roof came in. It will be cutting it close as to if it gets completed before the 4th.

I'm interested in bringing the whole gang out.

Any restrictions on number of folks in the MINI? I plan to have 6 total :)

I think the number of folks restriction would depend on how many passenger seats the Mini has.

This is a joke just so you know :-)

No restrictions on the number of peeps as far as the parade portion goes. Getting them all there is another story. :D

It's the week of and just had a couple questions. I take it 63rd street is where ALL of the groups in the parade line up, not just where the Minis meet and look cool. Is that correct?

Another thing, since my car isn't red, white, or blue , what are others doing for decorations or is a naked Mini the best Mini?

Yes, set your GPS to 6300 NW Bell Rd, Parkville, MO 64152, there will be a parade volunteer that will point you to a general assembly point for the group and tell us who we follow in the parade... it is all very technical ;-)

..as for decoration, some people go to the "dollar " type store and buy what ever is 4th of July themed. In past parades, there have been varoius types of decorations, like streamers, bunting, flags, decals, window clings pinwheels. One year someone turned thier MINI in to Rocket. Very clever. Bascially, the amount of decoration is up to what the driver is comfortable with.

As we are getting closer to the 4th, I thought I would send out an event reminder.

Parkville 4th of July Parade

Parade line up starts at 9:00 am and the parade begins about 10:00 am-ish. For those of you are new to this event, set your GPS to 6300 NW Bell Rd, Parkville, MO 64152. There will be a parade volunteer that will point you to a general assembly point for the group and tell us who we follow in the parade. I will be there with the hyper blue/white 06 MCS with the blue wheels. The parade starts around 10 am ish and travels down 9 highway and on through downtown Parkville. This is a an extremely slow moving ( parades speeds), family friendly, all age, event and everyone is invited to attend.

There are just a couple of parade safety rules that the police officers strictly enforce:
1) once the parade starts, you must stay in your car and spectators are not allowed to approach the cars
2) no candy throwing - you can have some one walk the route and pass out candy

Some things that you may want to bring:

• detailing kit
• decorations – if you choose to decorate your MINI/Mini
• water / something cool to drink
• snacks
• sunblock
• camera

See you there!!!

Hey if anyone can spare a passenger from your car to hold the American Flag I'm bringing, that would be awesome. Gotta have something to counter all the Union Jacks on my car.

Morning MINI Peeps,

We will be in the 40th position this morning. So, I am guessing we will be on far, west side of 63rd street to stage. See you all later, I need to finish my coffee and wash Cousteau. Thanks for spending your 4th in Parkville!
