WHAT: Car Rally at Richmond, Missouri’s Annual Mushroom Festival

WHEN: SATURDAY, MAY 2ND, 2015
WHERE: RICHMOND, Missouri (40 MILES EAST OF KANSAS CITY)
This location is a short drive from Kansas City and Mid-Missouri, however we encourage all MINI’s through out the state to make the trip to Richmond for this MINI Rally.
TIMETABLE:
8:30 AM-9:00 AM: ARRIVE IN RICHMOND, MO
9:00 AM-12:00 PM: SOCIALIZE- MUSHROOM FESTIVAL ACTIVITIES
12:00 PM (NOON) : ORGANIZE FOR MUSHROOM FESTIVAL PARADE
12:15 PM: DRIVE TO PARADE LINE-UP
1:00 PM: MUSHROOM FESTIVAL PARADE
2:00-2:30 PM: RETURN TO RALLY SITE- OPTIONAL SOCIAL GATHERING: HomeTown Pizza
(PARK YOUR MINI AND STAY AS LONG AS YOU LIKE OR DEPART AFTER THE PARADE)
WHY: This will be the FOURTH year that there will be a MINI Cooper Rally at the Richmond Mushroom Festival. Last year, NINETEEN MINI’s attended and we all enjoyed the parade and diversity of the Mushroom
Festival. There were many unique vendors and a wide array of foodstands. The people of Richmond
loved seeing the MINI’s in the parade and wanted us to come back this year.
DETAILS: The Mushroom Festival is an annual event that attracts a lot of people and they start on Thursday evening and conclude on Sunday. They have provided us a area to display our MINI’s next to vendors. There is no cost, just a great time for fellowship, to display our MINI’s and participate in their Mushroom Festival parade.
MINI PASSION: Hilary Morrissey is a passionate MINI owner. She has attended MINI Cooper shows and events throughout the state as well as hosting the MINI’s to Macon show in October 2011 & 2013.
The opportunity to get a group of MINI’s together at a fun event seems very appealing, so here we go! Mark Saturday, May 2nd, 2015 on your calendar and make the trip to Richmond, Missouri!

Shall we meet in KC and go as a group again? Here's what we did last year.
If we meet up at the Ameristar the drive is only about 40 minutes to Richmond (taking 210 all the way). We plan on meeting in an outer lot of the Casino near the entrance. Festivities don't start until 9:00 and the parade set up is at noon. We will meet around 7:45am and leave for the drive at 8:00am. I know some will have to get up really early to make it there by 8:00 but that gives us plenty of time to drive and see the festival. Plus, I'm sure some will want to spruce up their car before the parade, once we are there.
I thought this worked out well last year. And since Frank and David have been more than once maybe they can lead the way again?

Sounds like a plan to me. This will be my 3rd year doing this. Can't wait.

All systems are full steam ahead as we prepare for the fourth MINI Cooper Rally in Richmond, MO scheduled for Saturday May 2nd. Richmond's Mushroom Festival has been a fun gathering for all of our MINI Cooper Friends. This year we are anticipating a good group of Coopers to attend and want to encourage everyone to take advantage of this fun event. The weather forecast looks favorable and this year we have experienced the generosity of several sponsors. MINI's to Richmond, MO MINI Cooper Rally is a week away and we anticipate very favorable weather! The Mushroom Festival is for 82 degrees and sunny for Saturday, May 2nd, 2015. Right now we have 12 confirmed entries and had inquires from a number of people. If would be nice if you would be able to confirm your participation, however if you decide to drive in the day of the event….That would be fine.
To reserve your spot email me at ministomacon@gmail.com with your first and last name, car info, and color. Bring your lawn chairs and coolers, it's going to be a great day!

I want to remind everyone of our meet up to motor over to Richmond together. I'm trying to get a list of folks that want to do this. I don't want to leave anyone behind on the day.

Come on guys and gals lets do this! This is the 4th year and it has gotten bigger and better every year. Lets not disappoint Hilary and her family. They work hard on this every year.So sign up and join us as we eat ourselves silly with all that great festival food. Turkey legs,corn dogs,funnel cakes,sausages and onions,cotton candy,fries. I'm getting heart-burn just thinking about it. Don't forget the Tums! Hope to see more than 7 MINIS/Minis at our starting point.. You can join us too Bob,you look like you could put on a few pounds. See ya'll there-Frank

Agreed! We had a huge turnout last year. Let's have a bigger one this year.

FYI: Set your GPS for 301 W Main St, Richmond, MO 64085 aka The Farris Theater in Richmond, MO! The roads are going to be blocked off around City Hall/Downtown area so below is a map that will get you to the rally site easy.
Here is a map of the whole Mushroom Festival, lots of food and craft vendors!

The parade was fantastic. I had a great time.
Unfortunately my drone's camera recorded nothing. Sorry about that. I will bring it next time and make it records. I didn't have the right button switched to record video.
