Kansas City MINI Enthusiasts

I have been approached by the vice president of the Central Iowa MINI Club asking if we are interested in participating again this year in a joint CIMC/KCME drive.

Historically, this drive takes place in northern Missouri on a Saturday in May. This is also the proposed plan for this year.

I wasn't able to participate in 2015 and I understand the KC participation fell off from past years -- thus the question from the CIMC about whether we are still interested.

I know that in years past when I have participated I have genuinely enjoyed myself and had a great time. Makes for a long-ish day, but several hours of cruising sparsely traveled back roads and hanging out with new MINI friends is worth it to me. Others have shared similar observations.

Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions? Interest? Good idea? Bad idea?

Sadly, the last few years this has fallen on a day that kept me from going - May is always a busy month as it seems that's when events really get going......this year I'm going to Sandy Eggo for Mini Meet West in early June, so I don't think I'll be able to go in May also......

Understood.

I know that we always seem to run up against graduation events as a common point of schedule conflict.

For us, it would depend on the weekend as well. Niece's graduation in California, Mother's Day, Memorial Day weekend...but if it is not on one of those we would love to participate.

I would be interested. May weekends are typically busy. Haven't done this road trip. But I'm up for an adventure.

Just a note, the Mushroom Festival is on the 7th in Richmond. A great time can be had by all.

That event adds to the challenge, I think.

May is such a great month weather-wise that committing two consecutive Saturdays on MINI events might be overkill.

I'm OK if we want to skip a year.

We could encourage the CIMC crew to come to Richmond in lieu of having a joint drive...

I agree. Change can be difficult. Our family has experienced all MINI events are fun.

Still interested in more comments and feedback.

I'm not sensing a well-spring of passion around this event...but perhaps I am misjudging based on the very few comments we have received so far.

Probably on a Saturday in May. Likely not May 7, since that is the Richmond event.

I think I should be free. Sounds like fun.
