Kansas City MINI Enthusiasts

I am putting together a motoring event set for Saturday June 4, 2016. We would depart from St. Marys Kansas at around 10:15 am.(st marys is roughly 70 miles west of the Legends on highway 24). The route will consist rural asphalt roads with hills and some curves. I will do a test run of the route to get exact mileage, but should be around 70 miles. The end point will be in Paxico Kansas. Paxico is about 25 miles west of Topeka on I70. There is a Tavern that serves food for those who would like lunch. There are also antique stores and two wineries. The plan is to meet at Rays applemarket in St. Mary's around 9:45 and to depart around 10:15. There is a gas station next to the planned meeting point that sells ethanol free 91 octane. I will have more details after the trial drive. This is my first try at putting something together. I am open to any ideas or suggestions. More info to follow.....Darrin

That sounds like a fun run, unfortunately I'll be wending my way to MMW in Sandy Eggo then. Hope you get a great turnout!

Darrin, we might be able to squeeze this in but not sure. Busy with many things this summer but want very much to support the "western members" of the KC club on the runs so will give our schedule a check.

Hopefully it will work out. A section of my planned route will be 99 out of Blaine through Wamego.

I'm putting it on my calendar to go for sure.

I tried out a burger and fries at the tavern in Paxico today. It was very good. If you are wanting to eat there at the end of the drive, I will need a final head count at least a week prior so they can staff accordingly. Everything is made to order, so it does take a little extra time. I will try and attach a picture of the menu.

Sound great! I would be interested in road trip with hills and curves!

I am in for this one. Probably going to bring the JCW and leave the classic at home.

The route is right at 100 miles. I had to change it a little bit due to an event in Wamego. I have a planned stop just past the halfway point for a restroom break. My mom was able to open the community center in Wheaton Kansas for our restroom break, I will have bottled water there. I was not able to load a picture of the menu for the Longbranch, there is a picture of it on the facebook page though. If you have a radio/walkie talkie I would recommend bringing it as cell reception is not the best. I will be handing out printed instructions at Rays Applemarket the morning of the drive. Hopefully the weather will be nice. I look forward to meeting some new maniacs and seeing familiar faces. If you have any questions you can text me anytime or call after 330.

Just a quick note...directions to Rays Applemarket in St. Mary's. It is one block South of highway 24 on the east end of St.Mary's. Directly behind the Short Stop gas station that is on 24 highway. Just a reminder that meet up time is 945-1015. I want to try and leave close to the 1015 mark.

I believe my wife and I plan on joining in after having to miss the last drive.

Going to have to miss this event now. Took a rather large hit to my Wallet after that art show last month. Spent a lot and sold nothing basically. Have fun though.
