Re: What's on the agenda for our next garage day?

That looks like childs play compared to mine. Since yours isn't bad you might be able to tell where' it's coming from. If it's coming from the front of the engine then i'd bet it's the crank sensor. Mine is so hard to tell if it's one or the other so i'm replacing the crank sensor o-ring and the oil...

Re: Alignment shop recommendations and cost?

So did Baron still charge you since they couldn't do it? I'd hate to get into that position and end up having to pay twice! I had thought about Shore as well. I guess I could get the tires mounted/balanced at one place and go immediately (or very soon thereafter) and get an alignment done (although...

Re: Regular Maintenance

Doesn't the owner's manual have a maintenance schedule? I'm not for sure but I think most of them do. I think the lower control arm bushings start to go around that mileage. Also check all the motor mounts for oozing or cracking. I'm sure there is tons more but those are the first that come to mind.

Re: Alignment shop recommendations and cost?

I recently had a huge tire/ alignment disaster. First I used Douglas tire in lee's summit. Don't go there! first time I went they said they aligned it just fine but the second time I went they said there is no way they can align it with their equipment. Then I went to baron and paid the premium alig...

3 Gallons of PEAK Full Strength Antifreeze for $10.97!

When looking for coolant I found this ad and thought I would spread the news if anybody else needed some. I bought 3 but you can buy less but you also save less. They are normally 14.99/ea and after discount and mail-in rebate it comes out to about $3.65/ea Here is where I found it. http://hip2save....

Re: What's on the agenda for our next garage day?

I thought of another tool that would really be beneficial to the club, that's the engine support tool that suspends the engine from the front fenders so you can work on oil pans, motor mounts and such. Looks similar to this, and I'll bet Harbor Freight has one pretty cheap... Here is one at harbor ...

Re: What's on the agenda for our next garage day?

Crank sensor is super easy to do, especially if you already have the front end off! And I'll bet 90% of the oil pan gaskets that have been replaced haven't been needed - but were due to a leaking crank sensor letting oil run down to the pan and making it look like it's coming from the pan gasket. A...

What's on the agenda for our next garage day?

Well the last garage day was only a week ago but I believe there is still a few hitches and pulleys that need to be installed so I thought i'd just see what's on the table and then we can go from there as far as a date. If the weather stays like it has been then the next garage day might not be too ...

Another excellent Garage day! Thanks a bunch to MiniDave for once again offering the use of his garage and tools. I agree on the cravenspeed puller it looks much easier to use and maybe my mini can be the first trial with it. Since driving Marcus' Mini after putting on the 17% pulley I am definitely...

I can't remember exactly but I think we've had a garage day at Dave's when it was cold before and it wasn't too bad.
I always say if you're cold then you aren't working hard enough :D

I'll tolerate the cold because I probably can't make it if we move to sunday :(

Top Gear India Special w/ a Classic MIni

I just saw today that there is a new episode of Top Gear.I thought the episode was absolutely hilarious! It is a special in India. One of the cars driven and unfortunately torn up is a 2000 Classic Mini Cooper S. Made me want one even more! Here is the first 14 minutes http://www.youtube.com/watch?f...
