Classic Mini

Post by MiniManiac »

I am going to tear down the Mini and repaint it this summer. My initial thought was to repaint it Tahiti Blue (slightly lighter) and keep the wide wheels and sportpack arches.

However, I thought about changing the entire look of the Mini The other option is to go with a red, different wheels and arches. I was also to talk to Todd about getting some cool decals for it.

Here is a pic of the Mini and a pic of the model that I might copy. Thoughts? Opinions?

this is hard to see but it is essentially what I am thinking of:

Why haven't I seen this car at any of the events? That thing is sweet. I can believe you want to change it.

Seth is a former KC Miniac and made a lot of friends here, he lives in Colorado Springs now.

BTW Seth, my brother just got assigned to Pete Field, he'll be there this summer sometime.

Dave,

Cool. There are quite a few new MINIs on Carson right now. It still looks like I have the only classic in the Springs. The other classics all live up in Denver.

He works for NIMA, so I don't know if you'll cross paths with him or not....

I think the Mini looks good in the blue :? It's a pretty color. Too many red Mini's running around.

Another vote for Tahiti Blue. Seems like 50% of classics end up red.

What's wrong with red?? lol Well if I had the option, mine would've been blue as well.

I am leaning toward the tahiti blue. It will be easier since it is just a difference in shade and not color :)

I think it is an awesome color scheme as-is. Different, classic, understated. I really like it.

I am leaving it for now :). My masters classes are costing more than I originally thought and my broken ankle is preventing me from tearing it apart :(.

OK, OK.

No shit, there I was, knee deep in spent brass casings..........that's another story :). I was out with my 7 year daughter and we were suddenly jumped by 5 rogue ninjas (or a quarter keg of beer). During the ensuing melay, I attempted to jump off a loading dock while holding one of the ninjas (again quarter keg of beer). I apparently misjudged the height of the dock and the strength of the make-shift milk crate positioned as a step. I hit the ground hard and heard a loud CRACK (my ankle breaking). Not wanting to upset my daughter, I stood up, picked-up the ninja (beer) and carried it to the car. The end.

Glad to hear you rescued your daughter AND the ninja. Both very important. Hope the ninja was full---

Well, at least that makes the broken ankle sucks less. :)
