Oil Change

Post by kgreen66 »

Hi! I'm needing my first oil change since buying my mini. Can anyone give me an estimate of full service oil change with computer reset at Baron, please? Also, how long do they take? I'm driving from Liberty and would probably choose to wait.
Thanks in advance!

I would have called them directly but work nights and keep missing them.

$100? And takes about an hour if you set the appointment ahead of time.

The shop is open on Saturdays, and I'll bet for an oil change they could squeeze you in - but it's best to call ahead. Ask for Issac, tell him I told you to call! :D

I understand about working nights, my wife does too....

You should learn to do them yourself. Saves time and money in the long-run. The MINI is very easy to work on as far as oil changes go...

I probably should learn to do it myself. Looks a little intimidating under the bonnet. :? Is there any way to reset the counter without special equipment?

Don't know about 06 MINI, but there is a sequence using the ignition key and trip odometer on my 03 justacooper to reset maintenance mileage. Found it in the Bentley manual.

I was there yesterday and was quoted $94 for an oil change and $200-ish for the service visit, which included an oil change and the cabin filter.

Once you've worked on it a few times it's not so intimidating. I'm willing to help you learn when and if you want to. I'll be changing mine this weekend!

Ahhh. Just saw your post and just got back from having it done. Thanks for the offer. Maybe next time?

Baron said it was time for inspection 2 (brake line flush and coolant flush). $500+ OUCH! I declined. Not before the holidays.

I'm sure we'll have a garage day in the spring if not before then. I am in need of the same service and will be doing it then hopefully.

I've heard KC Autosport is pretty decent prices on stuff. I had taken my MINI to Baron once between the service interval the car tells me. Now I just wait till the car tells me to take it in since I have the 100,000 mile maintenance on my car.
