St. Patty Day Dash and Dine, Thursday 16 March, Drive 4PM, Dinner 6PM

The weather continues to suck but there is hope around the corner and that hope is my favorite day of the year - St. Patrick's Day! In honor of this wonderful day, I am putting together a dash and dine event on Thursday 16 March for an early St. Patty Day get-together.

The dine will take place at local Leavenworth dining icon, Homer's Drive In. There is more than enough parking to fit all of the Miniacs. As we get closer, I will confirm our headcount in order to make ordering fast and easy. Bring your lawn chairs because there isn't much inside seating but there is plenty of room outside. http://www.kansastravel.org/homersdrivein.htm

Put the date in your calendar and figure out if you are in for the dash, dine or both!!

For the folks wanting to go on the drive, we meet at Homer's at 4:00 for a 4:15 departure. We will have a quick meeting, pass out maps and roll. We will travel on a 64 mile loop through Easton, Winchester, Oskaloosa, McLouth and back to Leavenworth. This should take us approx. 1.5 hours to complete. Here is a link to the route. Folks wanting to do dinner, we will make the official time 6pm at Homer's Diner. I will have parking on the West side (behind the diner) and will make sure there is enough seating.

I drove the route today and it is a nice, fun drive. There are some straight stretches of road but also a good mix of some curves. I love driving through these Kansas small towns.
