Harvesters - The Community Food Network Volunteer Day Saturday June 01,2019
Event Name: KANSAS CITY - Sort & Repack
Event Date/Time: Sat, Jun 1, 2019 - 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM Lets plan to meet at the facility a bit early so we are ready to go at our scheduled time. Please plan to arrive by 10:20 am.
Event Meeting Location:
Harvesters' Kansas City facility
3801 Topping Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64129
PLEASE RSVP BELOW SO WE CAN GET AN ACCURATE HEAD COUNT. We have committed to at least 15 people.
On the day we will also be presenting Harvesters with a $250 check from the club. This is the money that Baron MINI awarded the club for winning the Toys for Tots toy drive that Bob Harsh organized in December. Bob has picked Harvesters as the recipient of our donation.
Additional Information:
We encourage volunteers to bring donations with them when they volunteer.
The following are important things you need to know about volunteering in our warehouse:
Children under the age of 8 are not permitted in the warehouse for safety reasons.
Closed toed shoes and long pants (no shorts, skirts or dresses) are required. Dressing in layers and bringing a jacket is recommended, even during the summer.
Please leave all valuable jewelry at home. This includes rings, which may come off in the packing process.
All volunteers must be free of contagious illness (runny nose, colds, the flu, strep throat, etc)
Parking is limited so please carpool. Visitor parking is available in front of the building and in an overflow lot across the street. If spots fill, please limit street parking to the east side (closest to the building). Please enter through the Volunteer Entrance (under the red awning).
Event Description:
Volunteers are needed to sort and repack donated product in our Volunteer Engagement Center (VEC). Activities include: sorting nonperishable items, boxing nonperishable items, packaging fresh produce, sorting and boxing bread and packing BackSnacks. The activity on which volunteers are placed depends on the product available and the priority in which projects need to be completed.
Must be eight years or older to participate; students 15 years old and younger need to be accompanied by an adult. Long pants and closed toe shoes are required. Families are welcome but please remember to register each member who will be volunteering! Please contact Community Engagement to schedule your corporate team, service club, scout troop, class, etc.

So....I am going to have to decline doing this - I totally spaced off that this was the same time as my granddaughter's dance recital. SORRY! Maybe next time.
Thanks for letting me know Cathy.
